  1. I don't understand what type of location you are looking for. It's common to transfer a plot plan into the software and position the house on it. As for field layout, dimensions from the plan. Your house is nearly rectangular so a quick layout on site should be easy.
  2. Thanks! Post back with questions.
  3. Draw the flat roof, setting the overhangs on each side. Make sure the pitch is correct. Draw a diagonal line from one corner to the other. Open the line and copy the angle. Open the Defaults, and under Plan, add this angle -- one negative and one positive value. Take one corner of the roof and form it into a triangle. Draw the tippy up roof starting along the edge of the flat roof and going towards the outside of the house. Use the handles to reshape it into a triangle, snapping the corners to the corners of the flat roof. Set the pitch. Join the two roof planes in the middle. Check in a 3D view.
  4. Close Pro. Then attach the plan file like you did the other attachments. Are you comfortable with the manual roof tools? This is a fairly simple roof to draw manually, and I'm not sure how to do it easily with the automatic roof builder.
  5. I don't understand how the elevations relate to the roof plan, but take a look at this plan and see what you think. rt 1.plan
  6. Do you have a Roof Plan from your designer you could post?
  7. The crown is located just below the ceiling. Check your ceiling height. It's at 113+ instead of the 80 something elsewhere.
  8. Post in Seeking Services on ChiefTalk. https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/forum/15-seeking-services/
  9. Check the Archive directory. Substitute your info for mine. Start in My Documents, I believe. D:\Users\e\Documents\Chief Architect Premier X9 Data\Archives\
  10. You should be able to rebuild the framing, or Edit>Delete Objects

Please update if this fixes the problem. Also good to report to Chief Architect (Home Designer) https://support.chiefarchitect.com/

I believe Pro has this. Go to preferences and check.

This has been discussed on ChiefTalk, and the recommendation is to install an older video driver. Are you using an Nvidia card? There is 382.05 that came out in May that is reported to be stable and not have this issue. More recent drivers may also work.
  15. I'd suggest to the HO that the house looks better without the gable ... I don't get the full return back or front. Returns don't work real well, and what you are seeing is not uncommon. I just draw them in manually.
  16. Post screen captures showing what's happening, or post the plan file (make sure it's not open in Suite).
  17. Draw the 3 walls, set the end walls to full gable. Build the roof.
  18. Posting images showing your issues will help. How did it change? No problem doing this.
  19. Thanks. Do you have a section view you could post? What type of "brick" are you using? I did these using a Pony Wall foundation wall.
  20. Draw a wall on top of the retaining wall. I used an interior wall. Drag the bottom of the wall up in elevation or 3D view. Open the wall and change it to a Railing Wall. Change settings as required.
  21. Just what happened to me, and a sure sign of having 2 walls in that spot. Symbols like corbels need to be manually placed. I usually move them vertically in elevation and horizontally in plan. You can open them and adjust height, or use Transform/Replicate too. On a gable, for example, place them going up one side as you like, then select them and Copy/Reflect about the ridge. That makes them symmetrical about the ridge. I always encourage others to get the structure complete before adding extras like corbels. And I'll also encourage you to make use of the auto roof tools -- at least to start with. That is, use the auto build roof to get the basic roof, then if needed, use the manual tools to make it correct. Here I manually did the porch, but everything else is automatically done.
  22. I am able to add a window to all gables. The 1st floor front wall of the house is set to Balloon Through Ceiling Above, and that setting should be unchecked. When you place a window that does not fully show on the exterior, you usually have 2 walls in the same space, and one needs to be removed. A general tip -- the more you can get the software to do things automatically, the better (cleaner) the model will be.
  23. Corner boards. Delete them all. Auto place them on floor 1. Select each one and drag the top up, and/or the bottom down as needed. I think Pro has Through Wall At Start and Through Wall At End. If so, read up on them, and on turning on Start and End indicators. These are wall settings that might help with #1. You should rethink the foundation -- not structurally, but how it's modeled. It's best to not manually adjust walls by dragging the top or bottom. I've attached a plan done quickly, but you will be able to see what I did. Starting with an auto built foundation. Set garage height and basement wall height then build foundation. Drag a wall across where the back part of the house is lower -- this could be a room divider, I just dragged a foundation wall across. Increase the Stem Wall height to lower the footing in that newly formed foundation room. Also, your pony walls need to align to the main layer, not the outside layer. I'm sure the siding laps over a bit. Grit_10_auto_save (eric).zip
  24. Chief lets you create custom labels. Here I replaced the default label with the available width attribute. This could be formatted in a variety of ways, similar to the 2 dimensions shown, and a B could also be added.
