  1. I'm using manual dimensions in the video, but you can Auto Dimension first, then edit those dimensions to do what I show.
  2. Please post images directly -- no need to make a PDF of an image. This makes it easier for others as an image shows in the forum. Making and attaching a really simple plan that demonstrates the problem would be helpful. Lots of different settings and ways of doing things. One room over one room, deck on 2nd floor. Framing built as you would build it etc.
  3. In the video I show a Toggle Patterns tool. It may be found under the 3D menu. Architectural and Pro allow toolbar customization. Right click on a toolbar and choose Customize Toolbars. You may create new toolbars containing tools you frequently use and place them where you like. Toolbars will float -- drag into the drawing window, and dock in various places like the sides of the window.
  4. How did you get to where you are now? What page do you want to delete? Are you asking about the white Drawing Sheet? You may turn it off the same way it was turned on, via Print>Drawing Sheet Setup.
  5. Plan from video HDMainfloorplan (eric).zip
  6. I'd start by searching the Home Designer website for purlin and girt. A search on the forum for barn or maybe pole will likely find additional results.

    Floor Trusses

@Garcia3 The problem is you have the OSB subfloor set as Framing in all (I did not check all rooms) rooms. Uncheck this and your trusses build correctly. I did a video last night showing this and how to correct it but had upload problems then, and again as I write this.
  8. Delete the slab and use a Porch room type. Experiment with the ceiling height of the carport. I used an absolute height of 96.5".
  9. Will the vanity be built as a larger single cabinet, or will it be built with multiple cabinets? Selecting the sink uses the same method as is used elsewhere. Select the cabinet, Tab to select the sink. You won't be able to copy it, just move it. You may place a sink from the library outside the cabinet, then manually position on the countertop.
  10. When you group select them and send to layout, they will all be grouped together in a layout box. I'm not understanding the problem, I suppose.
  11. Why are you modeling trusses? They will need to be designed by a truss manufacturer and you will include their data sheets in your plan. Sub Fascia controls the position of the soffit. Trusses build between roof and ceiling planes. Place a ceiling plane (shown in green) where you want the bottom of the truss and the truss will fill in.
  12. I'd suggest redrawing your plans if you are considering upgrading to a current version. There have been so many changes and enhancements in the last 14 years, and those older plans will bring along lots of baggage. I just looked at your website. Shouldn't you be looking at Chief Architect instead of Home Designer?
  13. Select a truss in 3D or Section/Elevation and see how it may be reshaped.
  14. Use Edit Area to copy/paste into a new plan.
  15. Open the wall that's there, or draw in a new one, look on the Roof panel, Roof Cuts Wall at Bottom. Setting does just what it says. Can be a bit stubborn but it usually works. Come back if you cannot get it to work and I'll look at the plan.
  16. Welcome Please start by reading over the official guidelines. And the official how to get good answers guide. The forum is divided into sections. Questions generally go in Q&A. Tip: Notice the post count for Q&A. That shows where most of the activity is and is a good indication that is where you should post too (on any forum), unless your question/suggestion or other clearly fits elsewhere. If unsure, simply browse the section and review the activity. What follows are simply my suggestions. I'm not a moderator, just a helper. Signature Knowing what title (Suite, Pro etc) and version (2018, 2019 etc) you are using is key to providing the best response. Something like Pro 2023, or Architectural 2018 is all that's needed. Since this is the Home Designer forum, no need to include that, or anything about Chief Architect. Please don't comment saying you included that info in your post, and please do not make another comment saying what you have, instead, place this info in your Signature so it's always available by clicking on your user name (or the 3 bars) at the top right of the page, click Account Settings, then Signature on the left. Doing so makes it always available, and keeps others from having to hunt for it. And, turn on signature display too. Video about doing your signature: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FlbX3Uzrelw ---- Many questions have been asked and answered. The Home Designer website is a good place to start your search as it searches there (Articles and Videos) as well as the forum. Here is a video about searching the forum (shows ChiefTalk but works the same here): https://youtu.be/dDT6wbrrVRM It's often helpful to quote parts of a comment so others understand what you are referring to in your response. Here is a video about doing that: https://youtu.be/B6qVnfSNyWM Resources for self help: The built in Help System (always a good place to start) Getting Started Knowledge Base YouTube Home Designer - Getting Started - Setting Preferences and Defaults
  17. How about your ceiling heights? Wall height reflects ceiling heights.
  18. I just looked at Architectural 2021 and 2023 and do not see a way to adjust hardware placement on individual doors. Pro and the Chief Architect products have it, but not Architectural and Suite.
  19. Things like this are annoying aren't they. I think it's a bug and don't see a reason it should be building a wall there. You can turn off the auto attic wall builder in Wall Defaults, then delete the wall. For your deck, don't know what advice you are looking for, but I would experiment with using a Balcony too.
  20. The plan file you attach cannot be open in Home Designer. See your post above the attached plan shows 0 B.
  21. I just tried using the shelf ceiling and see just what you are seeing. Looks like you will need a 2nd floor. Two ways to do it. 1) Build a 2nd floor only over the shorter rooms. 2) Build a 2nd floor over the entire building. Use an Open Below room on the 2nd floor over the larger room.
  22. Try the Delete Surface tool in a full overview. But I'll ask why would you want to?
