  1. zoom in on extension lines or arrows to see what they point at.
  2. Click below link to go to this rec vehicles library page of the catalog web pages Vehicles No.1 Recreation - Catalog Details (chiefarchitect.com) probably will ask you to log in and pay $3.99 for it.
  3. when you align walls the STUDS need to align aka framing. aka main layer. .
  4. In floor plan. add a room divider across the long straight wall to enclose this "BAY" area as a new room. Then click on the room area and open the room dialogue menu. first page Keep it as unspecified but enusre it is INCLUDED in living area. then go to structure. Set Ceiling height @ 97.125 if using normal framing of single bottom plate, 92 5/8" pre-cut studs and double top plate. or whatever you want it to be. then check roof over this room and go thru other options that may interest you. I am probably leaving things out but that should get you going at least. might have to manual edit roof planes
  5. I would just manually edit the roof planes in the floor plan with the option of roof planes being visible.
  6. go to Mircosoft aps store or whatever it is called and search "SNIPPING TOOL" to take custom screen shots and save as jpg, png etc. PRetty sure it is a MS software normally included with win 10 and 11.
  7. OPen wall dialog for this half wall. go to RAIL STYLE tab. Scroll down to START/END POST section. make sure they are set to NONE and see if this post goes away.
  8. IF you draw based on dims from CAD file you canbe sure it is somewhat accurate. OTherwisse any errors original person made you carry over into new project. NOt sure I would trust someone I donot know nor watched do the work. This is the engineer in me - you can trust but VERIFY
  9. Would this be something the programmers ever add to HD PRO? Sure would like to have some barrel ceilings to sow the boss (wife) what it could look like.
  10. that is one way. Just use simple rectangle polyline to represent the home OVERALL dims or DIM requied to be inside set backs. Play with it until happy... save that as it could be a simple plot plan. then draw house from new planfile. then when done and happy add in lot and whatever else you want.
  11. jeeze you keep askig the same question and get the same replies yet you insist on asking the same question again, WHAT YOU WANT IS NOT POSSIBLE.
  12. What he said above. Next time, draw house first then add in property boundaries and rotate property to suite what you want. I add North arrow so I can quickly remind myself compass points for sunrise/sunset etc House floor plan is always square to paper except for maybe a surveyors plot plan they tend to have North pointing up.
  13. draw in your "Pipes" Then click on it and open object for detail Then go to material tab. Then click on "pipe" and change material to a color of your choosing. Look for catalog under main core catalog library - MATERIALS - COLORS easy peasy.
  14. But you may need on 16" centers for structure and local building codes. Specially if hurricanes impact your area. Want better insulation: Thicker insulation layer: use 2x6 studs. OR keep 2x4 wall and use Spray Foam closed cell plus added benefit of less air loss which is also a good thing. or many ways to improve R value of wall - Talk to good builder and/or maybe engineer who specializes in improving home energy efficiencies. Heck foaming under roof and putting attic into condition space helps AC as it is not sitting in super hot attic.
  15. I do not know without looking thru catalogs to see what they have. the large Grey framing doohickey has to go. maybe make upper smaller by having a some structure between the top of door and bottom of window and use same brick? I dunno this is what program is for - try something, like it or hate it keep at it until you are happy.
  16. I do not like the window above as it looks like a door. This upper window is distracting to whatever you choose for the door IMHO. Maybe adding a large ceiling mounted hanging light that hangs in middle of that window may help but secure with chains when the wind blows to prevent it from hitting sides and window.
  17. Well I think you need to draw it like it is made with framing etc. So create a new a wall type with sheetrock, tile or stone or whatever will be on vertical exterior and internal surfaces; might be nothing on inisde. Include studs as main layer 2x4 or 2x6 or whatever you choose. draw in half walls to the height you want (check tub manufacturer instructions) less the thickness of whatever you are putting on the top. Next I would add in a custom counter top on top with or without overhang all depends on design. Cut hole in it per KOHLER install instructions to suit the tub you chose. Might do counter in 1-3 pieces to make life easier. Then insert tub into hole and the lip sits on top of countertop material you drew by adjusting the distance from floor to bottom of to suit tub instructions (most require a gap so it can move when filled with water. NExt up is type and location faucets. Deck, wall or floor or get fancy have ceiling mounted shower head. But whatever you do make sure it fits in space. Now if you see framing inside tube your half walls are not located properly for that tub. Instructions are easy to find on internet - Go to Kohler website punching the model number you are looking at in library and they have all sorts of docs you can review. Designing things how they are made is much better in long run as you are checking to see if it is possible and have a good understanding how contractor and subs will build it. So less questions during construction and more work being done. Locating things on prints lets subs know what other subs need for space or what not. Example Faucet local - Framers will ensure no studs in area you want faucet.
  18. Yeah but purpose of computer drafting is you can be super accurate and find any issue before as we say the steel or in this case Wood is cut. If you designed and drew it and room ended up as 16'-11 3/16" then that is what it is and that can affect other rooms and roof etc by just saying round it up to 17ft. Better is to move the wall to what you want for dim. So click wall and it will show temp dims back to normally framing of other walls. Just click this dim and change the number to what you want. Watch what happens as you may have to ALIGN other walls or move things but now you have it drawn and can be dimension as you want 17ft and see what it affects. Design to exact numbers will reduce ON SITE problems. Like why does my cabinet not fit?. Sink does not fit? NOt enough room in front of toilet Door Molding does not fit so it has to be trimmed. So I do not suggest rounding - just design what you want.
  19. yes use custom backsplash if you have curves in designs then change material to picture of your tile. Might have to edit tile material file to get sizes correct but that is not hard. IF all vertical and horizontal lines in layout then use cabinet partitions and lay against wall and adjust dims same thing with material. What you need to do is find something to stick to wall that you can change material of and then create material files of your custom tiles. Which is not hard if you can get good picture files of tile in large pattern so HD can apply and crop as required since you can adjust size inside material option window. SO I did 6x36 wood look floor tile for my house. Went to manufacturer and HD etc websites to find a good picture of large area say 10ftx8ft of tile laid out. Then copied and created new tile material in my library for this. Crate one 0 degree layout and another 90 degree depending on which room it was going in. But I created size of block to match picture actual tile size laid out so when HD painted it to floor it was scale. I concentrated editing the TEXTURE tab in the material screen as that is what looks realistic and what I was showing my customer - THE WIFE. screen shot of material screen for one custom tile I made.
  20. Make a base cabinet which is your floating cabinet. Open cabinet options Adjust Cabinet height to topof caoutertops to what ever yours will be (not from floor but from bottom of cabinet. Then set "FLOOR TO BOTTOM" to whatever you want. Might want to delete toe kick and then adjust front elevation of doors and drawers. Simple really and well lots of things can be off the floor
  21. HD creates backups of plans maybe you still have that hidden somewhere and can recover?
  22. It thinks the wall in question is an exterior wall so maybe room is not closed in yet? IT warns you when youhave exterior wall snot to have DRYWALL on outside since well that is not a good thing when it rains. Now there is a button thingy that when you have wall highlighted it will swap interior and exterior wall surfaces. PS why do you have plaster under the drywall? Is this an old plaster wall where they have studs and then put on horizontal lathe boards for plaster to "KEY" into? or something newer with a hardi-board on studs for plaster to be applied to? I have never seen plaster applied to studs is all.
  23. another way is to create a "RAILING" wall and choose solid wall since then it will insert a cap on top. Or go to Pony wall and select normal wall for bottom and glass shower wall for top. Many ways to do things and I hate to tell ya as I read your other thread when someone mentioned it: much of these basics are covered in the HD website videos and support and answers are there already. 24. where are you when you first select rug? 2d or 3d world? Ned to set something down on floor first torepresent rug in 3d and then "PAINT" rug you want onto it. I have used shelves and 3d boxes and set dims to whatever rug is say 48"wide x 72" long x 3/8" thick and then set bottom elevation to 0" above floor.
  25. put 2 singles next 2 each other. as I have yet to find dual outlets in 2 gang j-box setup.
