    Sloping wall

Neither HD or Chief can do Angled Walls , it has been on the "wanted list" for many years, but it maybe possible to draw it in Sketchup and then import it as a symbol/model ,though I have not tried it myself as I have had no need as yet. M.

    3rd Q about Corbels

to see the posts you would need to turn on Framing>Posts in the Display Options for the Plan View/Elevation as needed , inolder versions I think Posts are part of the Floor Framing? so you may need that on instead. Of course I am assuming you used Framing Posts to place the Posts originally , if you made them somehow else you may need to turn that option on.... M.
  4. select the wall in an elevation view and drag the wall's 3D Polyline upto the Roof manually if needed but you may also try hitting F12 for a 3d rebuild or check the rebuild Walls/floor/ceilings box on the Build Roof DBX ,without rebuilding the Roof as well placing an Attic wall should work too though isn't usually needed. M.

    3D view disappears

you need both drivers , it uses the intel for basic 2d stuff to save the battery and then switches to the Nvidia Card for 3D and more intensive applications. As Kat pointed out, in the Nvidia Control Panel, in 3D Settings>Manage 3D Settings, set HDA as one of the customised programs with the ADD button ( see pic) and then try these settings in the next two pics.

    Custom Roof?

They would be able to open your plan in Pro Trial Jo_Ann ,see what you did and transfer that knowledge to Suite. I'm pretty sure you used invisible walls in there for the overhangs eg on the back, which wouldn't be obvious unless you know that "workaround" for the non-Pro versions. I'd like to check out the plan too actually, if you don't mind posting it ... Mick.

    3D view disappears

if your laptop has two videocards make sure both drivers are updated and HDA is using the better Card in the Preferences>Render Tab.
  8. are you sure it is a Corbel you are using? cos they should have a normal rotate handle as David mentioned like these zoom in if needed to see
  9. It is quite helpful when dealing with curves to use the CAD Tools, eg the Circle tool to draw a temporary circle, the right diameter and placing it where needed, the Driveway will the "snap" to the CAD Circle as you manipulate the Driveway Polyline (per tutorial above) , which should make it faster/easier, you can also use temporary CAD Lines to divide areas up evenly ( Cad lines can be dimensioned too) , eg dividing a circle into 1/4's , then you can delete them when done too. library items

make sure the Selection pane is open in the library view along with the Preview Pane , click on the selection window once a window is chosen, then click on the wall where you want the window to go.
  11. That can be done using the Wall Break tool , the icon looks like a wall (blue) with a zigzag thru it , check you Manual or the online help for Break Wall which is on page 184 of my manual ,so you know how to place the break etc.
  12. if moving the wall caused you to lose a Room Definition ,you will lose the Roof , you need a Room to get a Roof above it (usually) unless you draw them manually. Any broken walls ?

    Pergola issue

try the Knowledgebase 1st when you have a question , lots of good tutorials and in particular one on Custom Pergolas http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00889/221/Home-Designer/Moldings-Millwork/Creating-a-Custom-Pergola.html you could also use this Tutorial and use its technique's http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-01081/103/Home-Designer/Framing/Creating-a-Pole-Barn-Structure.html or this one http://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00598/19/Chief-Architect/Framing/Creating-a-Post-and-Beam-Structure.html
  14. the photo shows the file has been downloaded to your download folder , you are not importing it into Pro correctly when you get that message , see my or Eric's responses above.
  15. One way is to designate the Rooms where the Slab is as "Slab" ( or Porch ,or Court ,ie a room with a auto Slab foundation) , in the General Tab of the Room's DBX, this may mean playing with Room dividers/invisible walls to get the Room as a Slab where you need it to be if it doesn't naturally line up with existing rooms. Mick
  16. This is a long-time "bug" which has never been 100% fully fixed , seems to happen sometimes and not others . You may find posts on the Legacy Forum about it too but not sure if there is a definitive "fix" M.
  17. your welcome , thanks for the feedback

    Custom Layer

HD titles only have one layer , so the only workaround is to make copy's of you plan with different names eg My House - LVoltage , My House - H.Voltage etc and then do that work in each plan and print it out as needed , you just have to keep track of changes which is the downside to this workaround but if you do it after all the design work is done right before doing construction docs it works. Mick.
  19. once the file is on your computer , use the Library >Library Import function to find the file wherever you download it too ,select the file ,hit ok/open and HD Pro will import the new Dal tile catalog into the Library, the other method is as Eric stated above , you cannot drag and drop Library files into the HD Pro window. ,the only other thing I can think of is that you tried importing it before it had finished downloading ? M.
  20. you can use the Snipping Tool in the Window's Accessories Folder or the Alt Key+Print Screen Keyboard keys ,then paste into Paint ,annotate if desired ,save and attach to your post via the more reply options button and then the attach button. However in 2015 titles there is a new toggle button on the VIEW MENU which allows you to turn scrollbars on or off as desired is it active? it will have a check mark if on. Mick.

    Section Lines

Yep not Auto like Chief but check out the CAD>TEXT section for Call Outs and Markers (used with CAD lines). Mick.
  22. Lots of info in that thread , windows and doors are a PITA with double walls though. M.
  23. 1. making the ceiling material 0" thick in the Room's DBX should work ( you need framing built to see joists) 2. turn off Framing in 3d views if you don't need it ( are your walls aligned properly above/below? my just be Z fighting though which is a videocard/driver issue) 3. Building the Framing does not build the Trusses , check your Manual you MUST draw them ALL in manually though you can copy/paste or use transform/replicate ocne the 1st one is drawn in manually. HD Pro automatically does not draw the Roof Framing if there is a Truss in the same location as a rafter but after drawing the trusses rebuild the Roof Framing so you see them and make sure trusses is turned on in each windows Display Options . PS did not download your posted plan since you have changed it since then. Mick
  24. I use the Pass thru too for Art Niches as you need something that will "cut a hole" in the wall ,which a Shape or soffit alone wont do ,however I use a window and 2 soffits for the back , one facing each room for Shower Niches,as to get the Tile to wrap the sides (reduce frame to 1/4" and frame depth to -1/2" Frame) you have to assign tile as a material to the Frame which a Pass Thru doesn't allow you to alter ( at least in Pro 10) , usually I use this trick for a shower niche so one soffit has tile on it and the other soffit drywall eg facing the bedroom/hall on the other side. you also have to Turn off (suppress) the casing and sills in the Pass thru/window DBX.
  25. There is no true 3D Board and Batten available but there is a board and batten siding option in the CertainTeed Library in newer versions under siding/vinyl siding/vertical siding. You can then apply any material to it as needed eg a real Cedar look. That option isn't available to me in Pro 10 so earlier this year I dug around the old Forums here, and here is what I managed to make using info from some old threads and a texture found here too. 3 different Sizes being standard 1x8,1x10 and 1x12 with a 1x2" batten over the joints, once again it isn't true 3D, they will import into your User Library as Board and Batten 8,10 and 12". If they don't look right let me know and I'll figure out why but I don't think you need the pattern file since you are importing them as materials. Board and Batten 8-10-12inch_MHD.calibz
