  1. You need to update your Template plan. Search Tips & Techniques for info.
  2. This trick can be tried any time walls don't connect correctly. Watch on YouTube: http://youtu.be/qZ9maGsukZ8?hd=1
  3. I've not seen the problem you describe. For questions like this, best to attach the plan file.
  4. Open a room, review the Structure panel. You will see where you can adjust floor and ceiling heights. Suggest you create a new plan and experiment a bit to see how the settings work. Use a Cross Section camera to see what's happening.
  5. I've not looked at the plan. You need to make your "attic" a numbered floor. When you build the roof, use Ignore Top Floor, or reduce the ceiling height on the top floor, build the roof, then turn off auto rebuild. Where is this located? Don't understand this, and are directions indicated on the plan? Read about/watch videos about stairs. Some general links below. ---- Resources for self help: The built in Help System (always a good place to start) Getting Started Knowledge Base YouTube Home Designer - Getting Started - Setting Preferences and Defaults Watch on YouTube: http://youtu.be/s-TcAHsiMjg?hd=1

    double rake window

Check out the other arch types. There is no match roof pitch setting, but this is easily done by eye or with a bit of math.

    double rake window

I imagine this, centered under a gable. OP wants the sloped parts to match the roof pitch.
  9. Dimensions do not locate moldings, except on cabinets. You can place a CAD line or a Point Marker and dimension to them.
  10. Create new floor above.
  11. That's just the way HD works. Draw in your own ceiling plane. Videos on my YouTube channel (link in sig), and I imagine, on the HD website.
  12. That works, visually, but not the correct way to fix the problem. You have used Deck railings for your pony walls. They should be just railings -- no Deck.
  13. Attaching the plan file will help someone troubleshoot.
  14. Draw a section of the pony wall outside away from the building. Make it No Room Definition and just wide enough to fill the opening (no need to be exact). Center it on the opening, then center it on the wall.
  15. Experiment with a ramp.
  16. What "total SF" are you looking for? The Living Area Label should be shown on each floor. Run a Plan Check if it's not. Each room can show SF as part of the label. See Help for more info.
  17. This has been asked and answered -- did you search the forum for info?

    brick ledge

The Home Designer website has a search that also searches HomeTalk and is a good place to begin when looking for answers.

  20. The Home Designer website is full of howto articles and videos. A search there is the best place to start when you have a question. I'd bet a search for drawers would find something helpful.
