Chief Architect Home Designer Architectural 17 - Question about rendering?
solver replied to Timeless_16's topic in Q&A
A review of recent threads should find some discussing similar problems. I would contact Tech Support. -

The program default is to select Rooms before Walls, although it can be changed. What David is referring to is you are selecting the room, when you want to select the wall. Using the Bay Window Tool is easy, but it limits you in some ways. Seeing what you are modeling would help us help you achieve that the easiest way.
-
Set the ceiling height in the room with the furniture to the default. Also, please post images, not a PDF of an image.
-
That's the only way that meets your criteria. You will want to stop thinking about using the tricks needed is lesser titles -- like dividing a room to get different ceilings, and take advantage of the tools Pro offers.
-
Since you are doing the drawings, why not make the actual dimensions equal to the rounded dimension?
-
Go to floor 2. Edit>Default Settings. Select Floor. Change the default ceiling height to be what you want. Back in the plan, select each room and click the Default checkbox for Ceiling Height.
-
What are you unable to do?
-
Build>Floor>Insert New Floor Select a wall, in the Edit Toolbar, mouse over the icons -- you will find one that is Align With Above (or Below). It only shows when a wall is not aligned.
-
Nothing attached. Make sure the plan is not open in Pro. You must click the Attach button as well.
-
Pro lets you draw your own ceilings. Search help for Ceiling Plane.
-
Pro is the only Home Designer product that can do manual roofs as David showed. You might download the Architectural trial and see what it can do. See product differences here.

Grab the top of the wall and drag it down.
-
You may need to lower the floor in that room. As David said, please post the plan file for the best answers.

I've noticed the same thing while using my trial copy of Suite. Many actions seem very slow compared to Pro. -
You need to build a Foundation. Build>Floor>Build Foundation Also, you should set the proper room type for at least some of the rooms. Your garage and front porch both show wood floor and trim as if they were interior rooms. Foundation with default settings.
-
Need to see the Plan file, not the Layout.
-
The Library needs improvement. I don't believe there is a way to see without placing in the plan. Some sinks have the width in the description, but many do not.
-
If you go to the attic and select that wall, you will see that it's not aligned with the one below. Click the Align With Wall Below button and it's fixed. Strange that when opened with Chief, I did not see the problem, but did with Pro.

Could you post your plan? An elevation will include that portion of the building, if there is one, and the entire elevation will be sent to layout.
