If all roof planes are the same, you could change things in your defaults. Click the Build Roof button, then Shift-Click-Drag. You may select roof planes in camera views too. Using a Perspective Overview makes it easy to select individual planes.

Suggest doing everything in a single plan. That's the way the program is designed to work best. Even model the house, save that plan, then add in the addition. You are not copying an object, but rather the instructions the program needs to generate that object. You will have alignment issues in multiple planes trying to merge the two plans.

Just a suggestion. With Pro, you have manual roofs. If you are using auto roofs, turn off the roof over the garage addition, getting the roof correct elsewhere. You might even model the original house (without the garage part) using auto roofs, then once it's complete, turn off auto build roofs, add the garage structure, then draw in the shed roof manually.

Edit>Reset to Defaults Select Roof Directives in Walls. Build the roof. Also, your walls don't align floor to floor. This is such a simple structure, I'd just redraw, going step by step, making each thing correct as you go. Start by setting your defaults -- walls, floors, windows etc.

You are overthinking this. If there is a roof anywhere over a room, it may be marked as Roof Over This Room. A first floor room that is covered by a roof 3 floors up may be so marked, but does not need to be. You cannot create a room on the A level. If you want a defined Attic space, you need to add a floor and give the resulting room a Room Type of Attic. I'll take a look at your plan and add more info if needed.

I'm unsure what your problem/question is, but I'll guess. Posting pictures and the plan file will often help explain. Any room that has a roof over it, should have Roof Over This Room checked.

I did this in Chief (first image) using one of the dimension tools not available in Pro. All dimensions were done at once. It may be set to pick up rough openings, centers etc. It's a bit tedious, but you may get the same info in Pro. (second image) Do Automatic Exterior Dimensions, setting them first to pick up rough openings, if that's what you want. Use the End to End dimension tool to dimension to the leader lines produced by the Automatic Dimension tool. Delete the Automatic Dimensions if desired.

Do you want to place objects like a door or window via a center dimension, or, are you wanting dimensions on the plan for use by the builder? I'll draw CAD lines sometimes for the dimension tool to pick up, or to aid in positioning something. Have you reviewed the Knowledge Base and applicable videos?
-
Suggest you send this to support. I'd remove the Post to Ceiling setting and draw in the columns manually.
-
Have you placed a doorway in the front railing wall? About the width of the stairs.
-
What do you want it to look like? Why do this if it looks OK?
-
If you uncheck Specify Railing, you no longer have a railing wall.
-
I rarely draw any type of stair, so I cannot offer practical suggestions. The stair tool in Pro is the same as the one in Chief Premier, so stair videos for both are applicable. I'd start by watching every video I could find. Check YouTube, the Home Designer and Chief Architect sites. Also search ChiefTalk.

Without Pro, my version won't do you any good. Some people here are really good at getting the program to auto build roofs -- I'm not. You might wait and see if anyone else tackles this before deciding to upgrade. my_plan (eric).zip

Was there a question in there?

This one is all auto roof. Looking at your elevations, I must assume the closet area over the garage has a low slope roof. I moved the exterior 2 walls of this space in a foot or two. Added an upper/lower pitch to the right hand garage wall starting 8' in from the baseline. The gable above the garage doors is an Auto Floating Dormer adjusted to look more like your drawings. An automatic dormer is not going to work at the rear on the upper floor because it needs to span 2 roof planes. Getting the gable above and left of the flat roof over the closet will also be an interesting exercise.

I'm guessing your floor structure needs to sit inside the foundation walls and not on top. But we need a better understanding of how the structure needs to be.
-
You said the deck works in a new plan. Have you tried simply copying your structure into a new plan? Use Edit>Edit Area (All Floors) if available, or Copy then Paste Hold Position for each floor.
-
What your uploaded plan shows.
-
Review your Deck Room Defaults. You need a deck surface as part of the structure.
-
You might post your plan file. Make sure it's not open in the program. Look in your library for Inverted Wedge. If you have it, it could be used to fill in the space.
-
Then try drawing a Ceiling Plane instead of a Slab for the ceiling.
