  1. For the missing wall cladding. You need a doorway where the stairs pass through the wall. Right now, the wall is going under the stairs. Click on the wall in a camera view to see. I would copy the windows, pull the stairs and landing back, delete the existing wall and draw in a new one. Paste the windows back, add the doorway, then clean up the stair connections. For the Footing -- walls above are set as Foundation Wall. Uncheck that, and the footing will go away.
  2. In your exterior camera view, turn on the Framing Layers. You will see the floor framing is extending out to the outside of the wall. It should stop at the studs (main layer). This image is from Chief, so it may show some options you don't have, but look at what I've circled in red.
  3. Slabs may be curved. Use the convert line to arc command. Did this in Chief, but should also work in Pro. You may need to check Ignore Casing on Opening Resize -- look it up in Help.
  4. You may need to use invisible walls where the doorway is, filling in the header area with soffits.
  5. Turn off Auto Dimensions. Go here: https://3dlibrary.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?r=site/library&reset=true Set your product and version at the top right. Download what seems useful.
  6. Posting images and/or the plan file (make sure it's not open in the program) will help.
  7. Take a good look at your exterior wall definition. The floor framing is set to build to the exterior surface. Turn floor framing on in the camera view to see. Set the framing to build to the exterior of the main layer.

    Import .dwg?

See https://www.homedesignersoftware.com/products/product-chooser.html Only Pro imports DXF files. If you have the plan, why not just draw it? Importing will only give you walls which are quick to draw.
  9. Read up on the options in the Build Roof dialog.
  10. Read up on the options in the Build Roof dialog. You can maintain modified roof planes, but an auto build will still create new ones. The program -- even Chief, is not set up to mix manual and auto roofs. Many use the auto roof tool as a starting point, then switch to manual.
  11. There are no alignment tools in Home Designer products -- something I could not believe was missing. You will learn to use the center tool, point to point move etc in their place. Often drawing a CAD line, or lines helps. You can precisely locate the CAD lines, then center or move other items to them. Some things cannot be blocked. Place 2 cabinets in a plan. Select them both, then right click on the center handle to see options. You will find Make Architectural Block. There is also an icon in the Edit Toolbar, I believe, that is available when blocking is allowed. Work through the YouTube videos linked in the above post, picking out the Home Designer specific ones.
  12. The help system contains much info. Search around there for answers to many questions.
  13. You might try tech support. Without the plan file, we are just guessing. Did you verify Temporary Dimensions were on?
  14. Read about Temporary Dimensions in Help.

    KNX

What is KNX? Have you checked the 3D Warehouse? For searching, use the search on this page. It searches the Forum and Support Database with no restrictions.
  16. The program does not automatically add walls. If you want to see for yourself, take a camera (3D) view of the space. Drawing in a separate wall is how it should be drawn, but Suite has limited wall types, and you may not be able to perfectly model what will be built. -------------- Resources for self help: The built in Help System (always a good place to start) Getting Started Knowledge Base YouTube

    Attic Space

You may need to create a 2nd floor, with a room definition of Attic. I'd test in a simple, one room plan first.
  18. In the upper left and bottom left (from the outside), there are 2 windows in the same space. Select the windows in those two spaces and delete them (deleting the extra window), turn exterior casings on.
  19. I'd send this to Chief. I have had similar problems. As a work around, you can use a Custom Backsplash for the trim.
  20. Posting a plan file will help. All we need is the wall with the windows.
  21. I don't understand where you do and do not want casing.
  22. Your question is a bit like "I'm looking for a new shirt, anyone have one that will fit?". What type of foundation and drainage? ----------------- Resources for self help: The built in Help System (always a good place to start) Getting Started Knowledge Base YouTube
  23. This is what I see. You need to make your porch a Porch and not Undefined. Still not clear what you want from the porch that is not there now. As for the bumpout, use a room divider. If you want the inside 3D to look correct, you will need to draw in your own ceilings for those 2 small spaces. Also, spend a bit of time with the documentation, and some of the links below. There is much info that will help. Resources for self help: The built in Help System (always a good place to start) Getting Started Knowledge Base YouTube
