  1. Jo Ann is probably correct, as usual. However if the gable wall is not in the same plane as the wall below, then you will need a Dutch Gable.
  2. I would experiment with placing a stair to get the railings -- maybe 3 really wide treads, then cover with a wedge shape from the library, or use a Custom Backsplash if available in Architectural -- draw in elevation, shape like a wedge and make as thick as needed. You can set the stair so it's partly below the terrain.
  3. Thinking about electrical, but other categories work similarly. Electrical fixtures are on the Electrical layer, so to display your electrical plan, you turn on the display of the Electrical layer and any other required layers, like walls, and turn off the display of unwanted items. You will need to do the same for each category.
  4. It depends on how the frame is structured. Are you talking about traditional mortise and tenon -- or something similar? You can use railing walls -- post to beam. Or use the framing tools to locate the posts and beams manually. How will you enclose the structure?
  5. Seems that info is fixed in Architectural. Pro allows entry of these parameters. Do you need railings?
  6. Use 2 stair sections, one with a railing and wall under, one narrower for the upper part. The Gable Sub Fascia controls this. Make it smaller.
  7. Draw Room Divider walls to surround the shower. This creates a room between them and the shower walls. Remove moldings from this room. Now move the Room Divider walls up to the shower walls -- making them 1/128" apart.
  8. I think it's the only way.
  9. What's wrong with this?

    floor plans

Could you be more specific? What floor plans?
  11. Have you searched for coffered? Soffits may have moldings attached to them. Can you see how they would be used to model the ceiling? The doorway is arched. Add an arch via the Door Specification Dialog.
  12. Recommend contacting Home Designer support directly.
  13. You will need to manually move walls to put them in the correct location. This is easily done using temporary dimensions. There are good videos available -- linked above, that you might find helpful. Have you reviewed the Tutorial? Also, depending on the specific software you are using, you may or may not be able to model your walls (thickness) accurately.
  14. The space planning tool sort of works for rough layout of spaces. Don't rely on it to generate accurate plans as that's not its intent. No No

    Arched Soffit

  16. Search the Chief site for clerestory. That should get you started. This is often called a Monitor Roof. One of my first practice plans after buying Pro 4+ years ago was a similar barn. Roof is auto built. I remember using a railing wall -- post to beam for the interior walls on another version.
  17. Yes, it may be done in Pro. How much have you been able to do? Resources for self help: The built in Help System (always a good place to start) Getting Started Knowledge Base YouTube
  18. I don't think so. You can manually delete what you do not want, the extend one and use Transform/Replicate to make multiple copies.
  19. The Home Designer website has articles and videos (linked below). Here is one about layouts. https://www.homedesignersoftware.com/videos/watch/2296/layouts.html?playlist=200 Also see David Potter's YouTube channel. I believe he has done a video as well. https://www.youtube.com/c/DavidJeffersonPotter Resources for self help: The built in Help System (always a good place to start) Getting Started Knowledge Base YouTube
  20. What are you wanting -- something like this? Textures don't stretch well like this. If this is what you want, you really need a new texture made with the correct size.
