  1. Does the line just below (Thinset Mortar) give you the same figure?
  2. You will need to contact Chief to learn about their support options.
  3. It looks like you are drawing walls inside the exterior walls -- just butt them against.
  4. See how the room is defined, and how yours is different? The wall type does not matter -- just that you define a room.
  5. Roofs build over rooms. Create a room -- like maybe a porch, make sure Roof Over This Room is checked, and you will get a roof.
  6. If you are asking about windows and doors, click on the interior side (or exterior) to get dimensions to show on that side.
  7. All boxed works but all flush does not -- there is one that remains boxed. Just what I see on many plans.
  8. Not hardly. I'll take a look at the roof problem, but will say the flush eaves thing is buggy. I almost never have a plan where they work correctly.
  9. I forget the limitations of Pro ... Select the railing and delete the Opening No Material layer. Set the width of the main layer to the width of the railing. Set the wall to No Room Definition. Draw a Room Divider wall across to define the edge of the hall. This should give you the look you are after. You can move the railing around as it's no longer defining the room.
  10. If you will attach your plan, I or someone else will take a look. You can see from the image I posted above that the only thing that changed is the floor overhang. The top rail is the same, and all I did was add the layer shown. No other changes to the wall.
  11. Just a guess. You started the plan from a template that includes a lintel over the doors. With Suite you cannot remove it.
  12. You can experiment with adding an extra layer to the railing wall definition.

Nothing newer than your Interiors version date, so anything 2019 or earlier should work. If you find a problem, try the next older file.

Google 3D Warehouse. It's a free repository of symbols. Also check the bonus catalogs available on the Home Designer site.
  15. They display fine in Chief, but I could not get them to show in Pro. I'd contact support and ask.
  16. Suite is essentially a toy compared to the others. But you can start with Suite and upgrade as/if you see a need. You only pay the difference in price. There is a comparison chart on the website.
  17. Start with your local planning/code enforcement office. They can tell you what you will need to submit and what if any engineering needs to be done. Check with your HOA if there is one. You can probably do everything you need with Home Designer. I'd start with Architectural and upgrade to Pro if needed. Chief is nice, but lots of $ for a one time project, although you can buy a pre owned copy, and then resell when you are done. You can rent Pro and Chief month to month too. There are free trials of both, but you cannot save your work. You can vet your design on Houzz https://www.gardenweb.com/discussions/remodel/ Which is probably a good idea.

    1st Floor Roof

I've not opened the .docx file, but if it's an image, please post them directly. No need to encapsulate an image in another file. Have you rebuilt the roof?
  19. I'm guessing the program now thinks that wall is inside the house so it has changed some things. You should be able to change them back or do the railing differently, like making that small room a deck or porch.
  20. This is all auto built. Think about how you control auto roofs -- they build over walls, and the wall height is controlled by the ceiling height. Here you can see the room I created on the 2nd floor, which has a 1-1/2" ceiling, and how its ceiling height is raised. I changed the pitch on the outside wall shown selected above. Since you already have most of what you need, you can manually change the roof to give the look you want, and simply move the outside wall over the one below. You won't need the roof hole if you do this. You can break the roof plane at 2 points along the lower edge, then drag the center part up forming a C shape surrounding the dormer, or grab the edge of the roof and pull it across forming on side, then copy it and reflect about the center to place the roof on the opposite side.
  21. Delete the floor structure in the room formed by the exterior railing. Experiment with making the railing No Room Definition.
