  1. Open the entryway room and remove the molding. Try a doorway across the opening where the drywall is missing. And I did not look at the plan.
  2. You can place them in elevation too. Probably need to move up against the wall in plan.
  3. You could: Select it and delete it. Select it and drag it far away. Cover it with a shape. Run a Plan Check to get it back if you delete it.
  4. 1) For your question, open Help and read about dimension defaults. 2) The Chief forum is: https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/
  5. Did you see the image I included above showing your foundation? It clearly shows the different levels and how there is wood framing at that level. I might start with a blank plan as the software will often "remember" things that are best forgotten. Set your defaults, copy the walls then Paste/Hold Position into a new plan.
  6. Also, you can rent Pro for a month and fix all these issues.
  7. I often have problems with changing eave sizing for specific walls. The program seems to ignore the setting in many cases. Also, you don't want a 0 eave overhang. Build a simple 1 room plan and experiment to see what the minimum overhang is. Sometimes you need to trick the program into doing what you want. Again working with the 1 room plan, set the overhang to some normal value. Draw a wall inside close to one of the exterior walls and uncheck Roof Over This Room on the resulting small room. You might try similar logic to get the missing eaves. Create a small room where there should be an eave. Or use the wedge shapes from the library to make your own overhang. And remember, you can always post the plan here to the forum. There are some people who are good at making the software do things ...
  8. No. Just think the process through. You are just doubling the drawing size, not changing the scale. Printing at 1/2 size (the 1/8") is just a trick to get around the limits of the software.
  9. You may change your dimension defaults to locate the wall surface. Open Help, search auto interior dimensions.
  10. Open Help and search for dimensions. Read through the results to find your answer. There is also a Tutorial accessed via the Help menu which may be good to go through. See the YouTube channel linked above also. The hour long getting started webinars should help.
  11. Not knowing anything about the project, I'm going to suggest the foundation is a problem. You have all kinds of heights and materials mixed together. Start by fixing this, and strive to leave Auto Rebuild Foundation on. Also work towards having everything use default values. I know this may not always be possible, but it's a good general goal. And a friendly suggestion. Always start by getting the structure correct. Decoration -- windows, doors, furniture, colors etc are easily added in step 2.
  12. Close Pro. Click choose files. You can probably just drag the file in to the reply area too.
  13. Attach the problem plan and I'll have a look.
  14. Pro, but you may just not know what you are doing with the auto tools
  15. Suite does not do Cross Sections.
  16. Not sure I understand. Suite does not have layouts. You can export as an image and combine in another program, or you might export them, then import back into Suite, then export as one.
  17. Did you review the articles on the Home Designer site? I'm not sure what anyone here could add. If you have a specific problem, or don't understand something, please ask. What "makes no sense"? If you have a complete plan that includes dimensions, you may just need to draw the plan using the dimensions.
  18. The Home Designer website has many articles and videos answering common questions. It's good to start your search there where you will often find your answer quickly.
  19. Probably, although I'd start a new plan, and suggest doing a trial -- building a very basic model to gain an understanding of how things work before putting effort into the real one. It's always recommended to get the structure correct prior to adding all the extras like cabinets, furniture etc.
  20. What goes in that gap?
  21. There are multiple ways of drawing and dimensioning walls. Start drawing a wall, press tab and enter the exact length. Open a wall and enter its length directly -- (turn on Start and End Indicators)
  22. You can go to level 0, select everything and delete. Select things on level 1, Cut and Paste/Hold Position on level 0. Experiment with Edit>Edit Area
  23. Place a skylight. Open it and review the options -- and note the title of the specification dialog.
