  1. Another way to do this, is to take 3 each Region elevations and Retaining walls. Create a room with the Retaining walls, then take 2 region elevations and put one on each side of the house, move them until the retaining walls are correct. Take the remaining region elevation and put inside the Retaining wall room, drop it's elevation to minus 70 or so. Draw the stairs and add a terrain feature to create a landing pad. Place the cellar door over the room and resize, open the specification box for the cellar door and change reference to terrain and terrain to bottom to 60". bilco.plan
  2. The template you are using, thinks the 1st floor is the foundation, that's why the unfinished room roof sits on the terrain. Use another template, go to edit>default settings, set the ceiling heights, set the foundation to either slab or walls with footings. If adding a basement, then use the walls with footings and set the ceiling heights to what you want, set the overhangs to what you want, set windows, doors, walls etc: to what you want. Now build the 1st floor and create the rooms and name what they will be, if not sure leave it at unspecified. For the exterior don't use soffits to create a roof, use room dividers or make the walls invisible. After everything is completed the way you want, turn off auto rebuild for the roof and foundation and delete the room dividers or invisible walls. You should have something like this. KH1.plan
  3. That's because the main buildings pitch is set to 3" and the deck roof is set to 1/4" you can change them to what you want.

    Gabled end color

Go to the Attic and click on that wall....
  5. LOL, The OP managed to build without any help from the forum, he simply forgot auto rebuild was turned off. The sunroom was named a Deck, simply changing the room type would have fix that issue, without fixing the basement you would get an error message if you leave it as Deck. The second floor has attic/storage rooms, with knee walls, unless that's how the house is I would not want to be crawling on the floor to get in that room, also the doors are named pocket but they are doorways. As for the ceiling heights you can change that to whatever you want it be, it may or may not work, it's the option you have. Suite 2016 and 2017 opens Architectural 10, Suite 6 & 7 unless of course you forgot to edit your sig line. lol
  6. Jo_Ann, What do you mean by "Correct eave height" ?? both the gable and eave overhangs are set to 24 and the primary pitch is 12". The only real problem was that auto rebuild was turned off and the sunroom was called a deck. The OP's plan was not bad, just some minor adjustments needed to made, there was no need to explain the steps as the OP knew how to use the software. What I would like for you to do is upload a plan that shows the "Correct eave height".
  7. This is what I came up with... Lodge.plan
  8. Here you go, Fernwood_Sample1.plan
  9. Check your display options, both 3D and 2D. Foundation and Attic walls are turned off, turn those on, why are you using CAD lines for furniture, fixtures and walls?? some of the walls are checked invisible and no locate, uncheck those. Don't try to mix the foundation ie part slab, part walls with footings the software doesn't like that.
  10. For the Garage, use the room divider tool and Gable the side walls, use railings for Balcony and Gable the side walls
  11. Is this a plan you are still working on? First, there's no basement to speak of, the foundation height is 37 1/2" not 82 1/4. You have stairs that lead to the "basement" which is only 37 1/2" high. What is the reason for Open below on the first floor and the foundation. Why is there pony walls on the foundation?? Is this the exact layout of the house??? To get to the other rooms from the great room, you have to go thru the Garage. There's lots of other issue's that this plan has.
  12. Click on Materials>Colors for the textures click Siding and Paneling.
  13. Also you can open any Template except Colonial and Arts and Craft, draw a wall, then insert the doorway, copy and paste into the plan then save it to the users catalog.
  14. Download the James Hardie Catalog from the Homedesigner site, it may have what you are looking for.

    Wall Modification

Use room dividers to create rooms, then lower the ceiling heights.

    Roof Problem

Uncheck ignore 2nd floor and lower the ceiling heights to 0" on the second floor, delete the bumpout and make that wall one complete wall (stairwell) change the interior walls to exterior walls. On the first floor change the Garage ceiling heights to its defaults. Go to the catalogs and click Architectural>windows>rounded>quarter, click and install, then change to broken Arch and change the arch height. Now uncheck auto rebuild roofs and check default ceiling heights for the second floor, use the full camera to see what happens.

    Roof Problem

    Upload the plan please.....
  18. Did you look here??? Materials>roofing>metal>standing seam
  19. Go to Settings>System>Display and change from 100% to what you like...
  20. Lower the pitches to 3 or 4" for the Garage, Porches etc:
  21. Uncheck monolithic slab, and check Walls with footings, change the wall height from 371/2 to the height you want it be.
  22. The answer is in the plan, click on the walls to see what was done.
  23. Here you go..... Auto rebuild is off, that is when you can change the ceiling heights without the roof rebuilding. To see how it works, turn it back on and look at what happens to the roof. For the front porch, change the ceiling height 108" and look at what happens. To get that front porch ceiling to work at that height you have to build a second floor and lower it. For the hole in the rear, go to the attic. 4 pitch.plan
