Save/export it (the second dwelling) as a DAE file then re-insert it onto site and it (another file/object ) can be moved as a complete item. This has worked for me. Edit area tool was like handling the queen bee in my experience. Results can go amiss occasionally. Need more practice. Jeff.

So, what is your query here - seems simple yet....is it a bug ?...ask support.

Labeling w/ measurements in cross section/elevation view
Robborito replied to ChiefZachary's topic in Q&A
Well I've learnt something here tonite on the use of " Markers". Thanks. -
Awkward ain't it? You need this question in the Q&A forum - not here ChiefZachary. Me thinks.

Yes - I have in the past obtained the manufacturers brochure and technical details and built bespoke objects in HDPro. If I apply simple geometry then most things can be built using the BIM tools and/or CAD tools - or at least possibly found as an object perhaps to import from places like 3D warehouse; If you post your .plan file then forum folks that might like to help can give it a go for you as an example. Happy building. Jeff. PS Check the catalogues available via the link in HDPro for what you seek.

If the CAD tools and text tools are available in the layout then it should be possible to draw and create a title block. I use Pro and these tools are there in layout. I don't know for sure if they are there in Architectural. Maybe open layout and check it. Jeff.

Importing a building in to the Site Plan of another project.
Robborito replied to PhillipsPlans23's topic in Q&A
This is a suggestion only; If you want this shop building as a model then export in the shop builidng file as a 3D Collada file (From 3D window) and then import it similalrly DAE back in to your site maybe? This works for me - you can then manipulate the whole model incl. terrain as one object. Cool. Hint: Watch the scale on importing as DAE file. If it's only needed as a polyline type outline - do similarly as a dwg or dxf file. See reference manual - its free and accurate info and very good. (Usually) Jeff. -
Hi -I don't live in the US, however, I am producing drawings for my local submission in HDPro2023; same story I guess worldwide isnt it?; Multiple pages (5) in Layout is a big advancement don't you think? For me I don't have an issue with plan changes made as they update in layout automatically - if asked too. Save some dollars and check out to the reference manual - it contains some revelations for me - the uninitiated. The big issue for me is the drafting quality is a bit average as HDPro is awkward at times as a drafting desk; The means of defining Iine weights is a trip to Mars and only half way back again. Experiment well with this is my motto. But I still work with it. There are other features that make it workable mostly. Jeff.

I have the same problem- and see in the reference manual that it has a lot to do with the scale of the drawings you nominate - but I cant solve my printout problems, I do not understand the logic of this at all, no matter what I try....so I sympathise there - If I get an answer - I will leave it here. Jeff.

Z Delta - found a use - see video link to its use with terrain elevation levels; https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/411/terrain-contours-absolute-elevations-vs-sea-level-elevations.html?playlist=101 Go to 1:30 into this great video by a great tutor demonstrating the practical use of this tool. Taken from one of the many well versed demonstrations by Chief Architect. Jeff.

This button or tool does not function. It should be there - because it would mean moving some things around in a tenth of the time. If anyone has ever used this button with success - please advise of how you used to do it. Not only doesn't work n HDPro - nor Chief Premier either. Talking about the Z Delta button. Spoken with Tech. Support - they say its a dead operation button also. I want it to work please Mr. CA. Maybe some other users here do also. Jeff.

OK - so I've read the book - when is the movie released?
-
So what is the solution here - so marked? Like - one can read some notes on the plan - but there are no suggested directions to achieve the result so deemed as a solution? Good luck.

I thought this was a Home Designer forum?

Use the insulation tool and add it onto the wall once drawn; Cad\Boxes\Insulation see sample; I use it all the time. Or, create a new wall? Jeff

Building Outbuilding Seperate from Main House
Robborito replied to JHarbinson's topic in Tips & Techniques
If you have a second floor - work away and build your other house. Then you can elevate this second house to suit the levels of land/terrain. Here's one I've been working on. Jeff -
My goodness making work there in the process. Surely it would be quicker to simply to just trace selected contours off a pdf copy of the DXF content as terrain elevation lines or splines in the first place; Give the GIS DXF thing a big miss here? If the result is cluttered then modify the original to suit your drawings needs in HDPro. I work with terrain elevation splines traced of pdf surveys all the time here. Jeff.

So, this software HDPro allows you to make new materials - so where is the problem? Just make a new material ,'old wood',....find a pic of old wood you like and go to it... I have made several materials of various steel claddings not already catalogued. It's very simple and quick to do. It's the same thing. Jeff.

My guess on this is that the wall doesn't know what you want it to be -hence the exclusion. Is it constructionally correct? This software is pretty smart - to put it lighty. Does a dutch gable need the lower wall? Try rebuilding it differently. Often sorts out the knots and lumps for me. Jeff.
-
OK - so dare I ask - what was the solution, or is that to remain a secret here? Can you explain your recovery 'solution' please. Jeff.
-
If you select the pdf in plan view - look to bottom left hand corner of screen for the 'point to point resize' tool. Happy resizing. Jeff.

Well it sounds familiar to me that's for sure; I'd be thinking it's a hardware or GPU issue; I also look at the General Options for Render under Preferences - Preferences\Render\ General Options Tick the Manage GPU Residency. Mine is ticked. I am having no problems in 2023 - in fact it seems better than 2022 for me. Marginally. Jeff.

Hey - I always ensure that the independent graphics card is on and actually running. I had some issues a while back in my case it was ensuring the graphics card was actually running by checking on the cards utilities. I know its running now as I can hear the fan blazing on the laptop as I work. I have a NVIDIA GTX GeForce 1660 Ti 6Mb card on a Ryzen 7 and have done walkthroughs in Physically Based render in both 2022 and now 2023 - and it's great for my work. Is your Radon card compatible and meets the minimum required by HDPro2023/2022 specs? Hope this assists in some way as it can get frustrating, I know. Jeff.
