  1. Go to page 0 to setup your title page info etc.. Cheers.
  2. I have had similar issues in the past; I would save the window in your user library - then add a door to the wall you want - then reinsert the saved window at the appropriate floor level plan. It looks like the sill of the window is below the ceiling/top plate height - that may have caused it to delete the door in preference and save the window with the raked head; A door and window wont site together in plan if they clash with height references - from my experience anyway. I adjust window positions in elevation in preference. Cheers.
  3. Isn't the DXF a vector fie and the jpg a raster image? My comment would be that you'd need to trace the jpg image using HD tools etc., to create items that would then be a useful in the dxf fie. I suggest only. Thats me done on this subject. What is the jpg image of?
  4. Wow - what is that exactly structurally speaking - sounds impressive. Any views or visual details of this round beam. I am not familiar with its type. OK - I see the pdf file - all good. So its not a round beam in section but just decorative infill.(beam trusses as you call them)
  5. Due to recent suspected 'bot' scans of my contact details - my details have been revised and withheld.

    CA support have been notified.

  6. Here is my contribution; If you only have 1 page and 1 page only - then that will be where you build your template/title[ etc and then saveas required'; In more recent versions we have 5 pages for layouts Page#1,#2,#3,#4 and #5 - and layout '0' is where your template setout can be bulit/drawn. You need to provide details of what software and version you're using to the forum. See D J Potter's link above. Cheers.
  7. OK -so this is where the editing and removal of unwanted details are done? And without this - what does one do? Not much other than look the alternative methods on offer. Thanks for the detail explanation anyway. Great input.
  8. So the software you imported to is HDPro2024 - or something else that handles stereolithographic files (stl)? I'm trying to get a handle on the process here. Thanks. Why stl and not dae?
  9. OK - but having never used this tool I'm at a loss as to its value in the workings of HDPro. On page 763 of the Reference Manual, I read the following, 'The individual surfaces that make up objects can be temporarily removed from any 3D view by selecting 3D> Delete Surface and then clicking on a surface' Is this how we modify objects as a process in HDPro? I find this to be confusing. The process (and User) that has been nominated as the solution to this question by the author Colesb - has nothing to do with the 'Delete Surface Tool' Does it? I don't know. Could someone please set me straight here. Jeff.
  10. I would just shape the wall extension in elevation the way you shape the backsplash; That way it remains as a wall in place; Its difficult to know if this wall extension you need is just a wall or something else? Not enuf info for my wee brain.
  11. My suggestion is go to page 960 of the HD Pro 2024 Reference Manual - Drawing Sheet Setup Dialogue. I think it covers what you're looking for.
  12. It certainly looks that way - well done. Much easier when its demonstrated that's for sure. Thanks.
  13. Would be good to see how your portal frames looked when completed using this method explained by Solver. Thanks.
  14. You are correct there also. Well, again I have learnt something tonight; When is a backsplash not a backsplash - only limited by your imagination. Thanks for the video - it explains the process.
  15. Well there you go looks like Jo_Ann has a solution for you - she beat me to it. Although - the method of doing it is not explained for you. There is still the Sketchup modeling option if you prefer suggested by someone earlier for you. Good luck. PS My initial thoughts were to use ceiling plane for the flanges and a new wall type for the web of this tapered portal. I have started modelling it on that basis and it works OK. If you're interested, I can post some images and how-to's.
  16. Have a look at this video; https://www.homedesignersoftware.com/videos/watch/10143/ Have fun.
  17. Maybe you might post the details of the portal/tapered posts etc the spans and heights, pitch of roof all that - and lets see how it can be done - I'm sure its possible; I'll have a go at it - just for the exercise.
  18. With the updating from earlier versions to Home Designer Pro 2024 - the 'What's New' has about 20 or so itemized summary of the new features. Is there a video or webinar going over these items showing the locations shorthand or quick access for those that need it. It would be great to have the new feature's in the What's New shown with locations clarified - directly. I searched for it but nothing has come up. Thanks.
  19. Is your Graphics Backend DirectX12 - see Video Card under Preferences. That's me done from my experiences. Are these stock materials or your own images of select products btw?
  20. I would start with the Adjust Material Definition tool -- its across the top right side and shows 3 lines close together. Select it and click on a material in the 3D view to access its details. You can adjust material definitions there. Jeff
  21. Sounds like a good drafting exercise - I doubt if HDPro lets us twiddle with the needs you have. HDPro provides the necessary drafting tools for this. Thats what I would do..as using Chief is not an option for all of us. Jeff.
  22. Hi - I was curious to see this post you referenced - could you give me a steer towards its location - or the title of the subject (Z Fighting?) so I can search for it please. Many Thanks, Jeff.
  23. Well what do you know - I have learnt something here tonight.(my time) The 'backsplash' is indeed a handy tool - on external faces so it seems. Jeff.
  24. So - what is the situation I don't see a post by any 'David'? It's a bit confusing is it not? Is there a solution on offer here to your truss issue? Jeff.
  25. Could you redo this demo using Home Designer please? Thanks. Jeff.
