In Home Designer there are no preprogrammed "Window and Door Schedules" like in Chief Premier, so to create one, you do so manually using "Text" and so forth. DJP

In order for your .skp symbol to show properly, you will have to make a hole in the deck which surrounds the pool object and also cut a hole in the terrain (if you have created a terrain Plane). Since I cannot see your plan file, that is my advice for now. DJP

Your posted image says "Client Viewer" which is for viewing plan files created in Chief Architect Premier only. It is not capable of creating a thing, only viewing what others have created in Chief Architect Premier. If you, in fact, have Home Designer Pro 2016, it does have the ability to create up to three, above ground, story buildings and structures. Why does your posted image say "Client Viewer"? How to create a new floor is covered in detail, in your "Reference Manual" and "Users Guide" that can be found under the "Help" menu in Home Designer Pro 2016 when the software is open and running. Are you using a "Client Viewer" or are you, in fact, using Home Designer Pro 2016, please? DJP

You can set any line style that Pro offers by way of "Display Options" dialog while in plan view. I do not remember how many line styles are available but you can certainly look and see for yourself. Your "Reference Manual" that can be found under the "Help" Menu contains information about all the tools and extant variations available for any tool in Home Designer Pro, it is over 2,000 pages long but it is also "Searchable" by topic and tool. That is why Architectural cannot import anything except pdf files, which you can then make sure the scaling is correct and then trace over the PDF. That is my advice DJP

+There are a couple of ways: Left-Click-Select a stair object and in that selected object's "Edit Tool Bar" (the one that only appears when something is selected) and from that toolbar select "Flair-Curve Stair object" (probably not exactly what you are looking for) Create the flaring stairs out of custom slabs you create from closed poly-lines to emulate the stair steps, this is most like the photo you shared. Being a native Texan myself and having traveled extensively around the State, I can underline that Texas has many different areas: Deserts, mountains, plains, Coastal areas with beautiful beaches, The piney forest areas start just East of where I live in Austin. If you have not already solved your "no floor" problem then please try making a copy of your plan file and compress it into a .zip file to share here. I am sure that there are many here who can solve your problem once they have the file. How to create a compressed zip file in Windows: Using Windows Explorer you locate the plan file, "right-click" on it and select from the resulting choices "Send to" "Compressed Archive". That command then makes a smaller version in terms of kilobytes your plan file and with the smaller size, it can then be more easily shared here. Give it a try, please. DJP

Save, saves finally, the plan file you are working on. Save as- is used when you wish to make a copy of the plan file you are working on. When you save as you end up with two files (clones of each other but with different names). These are standard "Windows Operating System" commands that every Windows application has as a choice. Your post sounds like you are using Chief Architect Premier and NOT any Home Designer software titles, this forum is for Home Designer Software users, not Chief Architect Premier users. What software do you have, please? DJP

My prior advice is not true for Architectural but at that time I did not know what you have, software wise. The only thing I noticed from your posted images, other than the missing floor is that that space's Room Specification Dialog shows that the defaults for "Stem Wall and Floor" are unchecked. That indicates to me that you are not then following the defaults preset for the software (a common new user mistake which causes no end of trouble). In " Edit - Default Settings- Current Floor" you define what the majority settings are for the current floor. When you skip that which defeats entirely how the software is designed to work, you get the software as an opponent instead of a helper. I cannot tell just from your images what is going on. There are two things you can do if you wish to get any useful help: 1. Create a zip file of your plan using the "File - Backup Entire Plan" command which should create a small enough file archive to share here 2. Make a "Save as" copy of your plan, removing non-essential objects like plants, furniture-just walls, roofs, windows and doors and then .zip that for sharing here. Without your plan file, all we can do is guess. With your file, we can carefully inspect and find exactly what is wrong. .zip files compress .plan files to a smaller overall size which makes them easier to comply with the attachment size requirement of the software forum. If that room is marked "Floor provided by the foundation" on its Room Specification Dialog and you have not yet built a foundation floor, then there would be no floor to show, check for that, please. DJP

I believe, in order to emulate this roof you will need to do two things: 1. Upgrade to Home Designer Pro and 2. Learn how to use its manual roof creating and editing tools DJP

What sort of "Help" are you looking for? Were you looking for symbols that look like drapes? There are some available (I think) at the Home Designer Website-Catalog Downloads page. I think you would do better printing the elevations to paper and then draw in by hand your drapes the old-fashioned way. Home Designer titles just do not have the custom symbol making ability to give interior designers the complete freedom that they require like Chief Architect Premier Interiors does. where you can make your own symbols as you need them or make them in Sketch Up to then import into Home Designer or Chief Premier. Anyway, please be as specific as is possible when you ask for help, rather than make us guess what is needed and wanted. DJP

Rookie65 is correct, what he told you to do is the ONLY way to bring back the "Living Area" display if it has been deleted, unless it is turned off in "General Plan Defaults Dialog". DJP

Where there is a curved property line, I usually scan, import and scale a portion of the PDF which shows ONLY my target site plan and use that to manually finish up the site plan. Is this doable? Yes, I do such plans all the time as a matter of course. It is more work, of course, but that just comes with the turf. DJP
