I have never in my 25-year professional career been asked to create such a roof, ever. I have used Chief Architect Premier through that time. One could model a symbol in Sketch Up Pro to emulate such a roof and then import that symbol into Home Designer Pro for use. I think such ability is built into programs like ArchiCAD and Architectural Desktop by AutoDesk but those two programs are very pricey indeed compared to HD Pro and Chief Premier. I would recommend that you buy Sketch Up, make your roof symbol, place it in your HD Pro plan and be done with it, no need to spend thousands of dollars per year just to build one asymmetrical roof plane. That depends upon WHY want the image imported. I mainly use .jpg image files but sometimes that file format is too "pixelated" to read, so I ask the client or originator for a .dxf file or a .tiff file which are usually larger but much crisper especially to text and symbols. It depends upon the purpose one intends to use the import for. DJP

James, it is whatever it is. I hope you find the cause quickly. I have been using this software since 1995 and monitoring Home Talk and Chief Talk since those venues were created and I have never heard of this happening to anyone, anywhere before. I am sorry you are having to deal with it. It is not a bug in the software, I am certain of that but I am also certain that it is "something" and how annoying it must be for you. DJP

If you are using a "Back-Clip Cross section camera" you could be "back clipping" the cabinets out of the camera view. I would also check for layers being turned off in the camera view set while it is active as well. DJP

You can place reshaped soffits (cabinet tools - soffit) and then place the pebble materials on those custom objects as a border. DJP

I started using Chief Premier back in 1995 and never read the Users Manual, start to finish in 1999. At that time I was asked to start teaching seminars for a business near San Antonio. That is when I really started thoroughly learning the program, having to stand in front of thirty Builders and Developers tends to make you not want to found out as a fraud. My point is that being a teacher is a great way to force your self to be a know it all ( To this day I have not achieved anyway near that lofty title but I know more than I would have otherwise). My main teacher back in the early nineties was VHF tapes created by Dan Baumann that my then boss purchased for me to help me learn Chief faster. They and he helped a lot. DJP

Yes, the breaks in the ceilng joists and bolts will have to be done manually though. Initially, all you need to do is to set Framing defaults for those specifications and then manually edit the ceiling joists and add objects to represent the fastiners. DJP

In Home Designer titles you go to the main "Edit" menu, under that heading is Edit-Preferences" which controls how the program automatically reacts to situations and also "Edit - Default Settings" where Plan Specific settings are to be found. DJP

If you are using a Windows Operating System, it has a built-in file compression utility (select the "File-Back up Entire Plan" comand to compress the entire plan file and associated material fils into a single compressed file archive). So when others look at your file, it will appear just like it looks on your PC on theirs. You can also make a copy of your plan file and strip out non-essential objects to make it smaller for sharing then "Back up Entier Plan" on that to get a smaller file if necessary. Then post that here for others to research. Without your plan file to look at, we can only guess what is amiss, sorry. I can see what your problem is but not why it is manefesting itself, that is due to settings and settings are resident only in your plan file, thank you for sharing anyway! DJP

I could not download or openyour .docx document. Without being able to see a copy of your plan file I cannot know what settings are wrong, I cannot see any moldings, walls, stairs etc without that. DJP

Are you asking how to draw this as a 2D detail or are you asking about how to 3D model it or are you asking about how to do both or either? Your posted image is too small for me to see with any detail. Perhaps Eric understands what you want, I do not. Commonly such structural details are done in an elevation camera and you then add 2D CAD lines and fill boxes to represent structural objects like in AutoCAD. Such objects that also need to be visible as 3D objects can be made as custom slabs and then seen in camera views. I am sure your problem is either a visual one in camera views or a graphic one in 2D detail views. What do you say to that? DJP
