  1. Chief Architect questions go in the Chief Architect Forum. Please start a new topic instead of adding your question to an existing thread.
  2. Not sure what you are trying to do -- a picture of the actual room you are trying to model would help. This is a cabinet in a doorway. I made the cabinet 1/16" tall. Done with Suite.
  3. A Balcony room type by default has no ceiling or roof. Change the settings (check the options) in the room structure panel to have a Roof Over This Room and Ceiling Over This Room. Also make sure the ceiling height (absolute elevation) matches the space the balcony is in.
  4. You referenced Chief -- The new name would make it easier ti visualize and adjust the model in Chief. If you are using Chief Architect and not Home Designer, please post in the Chief Architect forum.
  5. Also, do a Backup Entire Plan so we have all your textures etc.
  6. If you could place a saved camera or 3 in the plan, then we would know what you are wanting to render, and give a view to compare.
  7. Point us to the renders you are trying to emulate. Make sure they are done in Home Designer.

Have you searched the knowledge base?
  9. You have found the Home Designer forum. Chief Architect products are discussed on ChiefTalk. Your same username and password work there.
  10. Sorry -- sloped soffits not available in Suite.
  11. Use an inverted wedge from the library for the side. Use a sloped soffit for the underside. Often asked question, and a search for inverted wedge should find some additional threads.
  12. You have found the Home Designer forum. Chief Architect forum is ChiefTalk.
  13. I think imported symbols are always set to be a fixture in Home Designer. I can try to import in Chief and set to be a door. PM me for an email.
  14. Everything should be in the help system. Also, some of the YouTube videos go over this. Look for Advanced Roof. 1. Trusses are built between the roof and ceiling planes. 2. You don't need to know this, but you can measure it with the dimension tools. 3. See #1 -------------- Resources for self help: The built in Help System (always a good place to start) Getting Started Knowledge Base YouTube
  15. Take an exterior elevation of the end wall. Select the wall. Use the break tool (3 on keyboard or icon) to break the wall polyline as needed. Use the handles to shape it. Once the first is done, copy/reflect to duplicate it on the other end.
  16. I'm out of suggestions. I'd call Chief. I know you have an older version, but with this type of issue, they should help. Please post the fix you you get it resolved.
  17. Right click on menu/toolbar, uncheck Tool Palette. See if Toolbars now has a full list.
  18. You have done Edit>Preferences>Reset Options, Reset Side Windows
  19. Right click just to the right of Help. This is from Chief Premier, so yours may not have all these options.
  20. What do you get when right clicking on the toolbar area?
  21. When you say "lower", are you talking about pitch, the ceiling height inside the addition, both???
