  1. Make the stairwell 2 floors tall, no open below room on the 2nd floor.
  2. The Board and Batten and the Whitewashed Wood are both textures and cannot be combined in any of the Home Designer/Chief Architect products. You would need to create your own texture to achieve this look.

    Bad front wall

You can control foundation wall heights from within the foundation room, or from the room above (auto rebuild off). You can also use pony walls for foundation walls where they step down with grade and you want siding above and concrete below.

    Bad front wall

Steps down from/to what? You do not have auto rebuild foundations on. When I build the foundation I see the 2 structures on the left. The one on the far right is a copy of the one on the left, moved down 12" and the Foundation setting removed from the walls.
  6. With Temporary Dimensions turned on, select the window. You should see dimensions between the window and wall, and window and door. Use one of them to move the window.
  7. Try taking a section through the stair and marking where and what shape you want the wall to give us a better understanding. You will need to draw in any walls, and you may consider using a room with a raised or lowered floor for the landing.
  8. I skimmed your post quickly and probably gave you some wrong info. Railings may be turned on or off in the Stair dialog, or they will automatically see a wall next to them and change to wall mounted handrail. Landings work much the same. If you click on an edge then look in the Edit Toolbar, you will see a tool that removes the railing on that edge. If you use the Auto Stairwell tool, it generates railing walls that may be selected as I suggested above.
  9. Have you tried selecting and then deleting all the cabinets? It should be obvious which ones to put back. Select all cabinets, Cut and Paste into a new plan. Select the good ones and put them back (paste hold position?).
  10. It's also helpful to know what the roof is supposed to look like.
  11. Open the railing (it's just a wall marked to be a railing) and change it from a railing to a normal wall. There isn't anything special about the auto generated stair railings.
  12. Have you tried a different browser?
  13. The program is designed for the user to draw walls, then derive the basement/foundation structure from them. It all works together. I trace plans by drawing walls over them all the time, getting close by first scaling the image/PDF etc. There are some good overviews -- 1 hour webinars on YouTube that might help. 14. Where are your first floor walls? What is the problem with the foundation?
  15. The program is designed to build walls, then define the floor structure and have the program build it. You don't generally, "build the slab first". Doing so creates a disconnect between the walls and foundation so the program places the walls at their default elevation.
  16. Are your video drivers up to date? Is your system using its best video card?

  18. You have changed the roof defaults incorrectly. Consider using typical pitch in inches instead of degrees. Go to Edit>Reset To Defaults and select Roof Directives in Walls (on All Floors). Fix your overhangs -- they are not 4", and then set walls to Full Gable where needed. You will need to post better images of the roof for more help. Maybe a google image showing it from above.
