Your Upwork person used Chief Architect to create the model, and some of the objects, like the solar panels and the small roof on the first floor are not ones you may edit in Home Designer. Ask your Upwork worker to remove them.

The Home Designer website is full of articles and videos, and the default search will also search the forum (but you can narrow the focus as I have done) , so it's a good place to start when you have a question. When I began learning the program, I drew many simple models to test an idea. It's so quick to do this, and the feedback is immediate -- you see what works and what does not. Even experienced users have problems where floor and ceiling heights vary.

Understand, the program doesn't resolve issues -- you do. Start over Sometimes starting over is best. There are so many related settings and new users often make random changes trying to make something work. I'll focus on one problem, and probably the easiest to correct. You have walls in the 2nd image that seem to be showing the exterior side on the interior. You have either placed an exterior wall there, or you have changed the materials on those walls. The program doesn't know what type of wall you want, so you need to tell it. And if you want to work on fixing your plan, go to Edit>Reset to Defaults. Select All Floors and check all the boxes below.

Try the setting I showed above. Delete the problem windows and recreate. Various ways. Draw in a wall on level 2, make it an Attic wall. In an elevation, select the wall, you will see the wall outline (wall polyline). Place a break along the bottom. Grab the handle and drag up to form the correct shape. Check your wall types. I'm assuming ceiling panels should be ceiling planes. I do not see a room divider on the 2nd floor, nor do I see a kitchen. I see missing drywall where walls would be and it may be fixed with this setting. It's helpful to attach a screen capture or 3 showing the various problems so we know what to look for.

Never seen this. I'm assuming you are using Pro. Use Edit>Edit Area>Edit Area (All Floors) to marquee around the plan. Copy and paste into a new plan and save it. Make sure things are really deleted and not just hidden. Are they gone in all views -- plan and 3D? Open Display Options and make sure Cabinets are set to display, for example. You should have Archive files and you might try opening an Undo file as well. Difficult to help remotely and without knowing your computer skills.

No. The core of the program is a room. Everything builds around that. In your case, use a Room Divider wall to join the existing walls to create a room. When someone uses a term or phrase you are unfamiliar with, open Help and search for it

Many times, and this is one of those times, showing a screen capture of the problem will help others help you. Usually this is caused by one or more walls having No Room Definition checked.

Use a custom backsplash. Draw a rectangle over the windows -- the program will automatically make holes for the windows.

The Make Parallel/Perpendicular tool is rather simplistic. If the two objects are closer to parallel than perpendicular, it makes them parallel, and similar for perpendicular. Only when they are exactly 45 degrees apart do you have the choice of parallel or perpendicular. Experiment with CAD lines to see how it works. There are no dedicated alignment tools.

The only real difference is one has small flats instead of points. Completely made up for a Home Designer user in another group.

No. Make a copy and delete the terrain -- basically anything other than the kitchen. Zip it if it's still too big. Right click on the file, Send To>Compressed Folder

Sorry -- you need to copy to the user library first. I'm wanting your plan file, not pictures of the plan. You can also just attach the entire plan file.

Select one of those sinks in the library, right click and choose Export Library. Attach the file that's created. Use Edit Area to marquee around the kitchen, copy and paste into a new plan, save and attach it too.

The program is full of "helpful" automation that will frustrate you as long as you are using it. One of the issues all users face is figuring out if it's them or the program. Your idea is sound, and I tried a bunch of things that I expected to work, but none did because the program is smarter than I am. Yes, adding a beam and piers needs to be done manually. Also, the Home Designer website has a search that includes the forum, and is a good place to look for solutions.

You probably did not need to uncheck all, rather only the ones preventing your rooms from having room definition.

Most likely one of the walls has No Room Definition checked.

Probably need to place partitions manually if you want them behind a door, but check the bonus catalogs for an already built insert. Otherwise.
