DavidJPotter
The roof pitches are steeper in the photo than in your posted image. Go to the "Build Roof" dialog and change the pitch (angle) of the roof steeper to better match your photo. DJP
cooldood
You sir are correct. According to the print there are two different roof pitches, 8/12 and 12/12. I set the two wider walls to 8:12 When I try to change the two narrower sections to 12:12 I get the error. I am doing it in 3D view by clicking on the gable wall and changing pitch. Rookie65
With Architectural, you don't have manual roofs. Upgrade to Pro and you can eliminate that problem with having 2 different pitches
cooldood
Seems hard to believe changing roof pitches is an "upgrade". $300 to change a roof pitch is just short of stealing
Rookie65
You get a lot more than just that. Compare the 2 programs

Compare the 2 programs No doubt, but come on, a simple gable roof default is not an option? Gable roofs are incredibly common and simple to design. It is an abject software design failure by design. I am not here to start an internet war. I realize I have been dooped and now I am moving on. Thanks for time everyone

You just need to review the documentation on how to control pitch. 2 hours ago, cooldood said: I am trying to raise the roof height What are you trying to raise -- the entire roof? No, it was factual, useful advice, where you wish to set pitches other than the default pitch set in the "Build Roof Dialog" you set those diverging pitches by way of the "Wall specification dialog - roof tab -roof pitch input box" to guide the auto-roof generator to a desired result. If you are not obtaining a desired result then one must find where they have erred in manually setting up for the auto-roof generator (Build Roof Dialog - Roof Styles tab" is an excellent source of true data relative to setting up for various differing roof types and geometry). Jo_Ann
You can NOT change a roof pitch by opening a gable wall, and setting the pitch. You change the pitch on the eave walls on either side of the gable.
