Monitor barn roof

Recommended Posts

The raised roof section needs to be defined with walls, invisible or not so you can set that area's ceiling height higher than the left and right sections at a lower ceiling height. the little prow roof on the higher roof sections you cannot do in Architectural for that would require Home Designer Pro or above. You may have to get the exact ceiling height for the higher area by trial and error until you get just the right amount of separation.

This is as far as I have gotten so far following other suggestions from the Roof Tip to just get the roof right with temporary walls that can be deleted after the auto is turned off later.

Actually you are wrong I don't need pro.  I followed the info in this earlier thread for the hay hood. https://hometalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/2473-create-this-barn-roof-with-widow-peak/#comment-13806 I think it works okay in architectural if I can just figure out how to stop the floor.

Make that room Open Below, or a Slab or Porch. You might need to remove the floor, or set it to a material like Opening/No Material.

Try it by building a 2nd floor and then lower the ceiling height to 36" or 48".

Thanks LawB10. Creating a second floor worked out so much better than trying to do everything on the first.

Still have a problem with my slab hovering above the ground but its coming along.

For the slab, use a box shape and set elevation reference to  "From Terrain" and the floor to bottom to 0"
