  1. https://youtu.be/hwD7vzZUyjw My contribution to helping you. DJP
  2. In older versions the way one would "face" the soffit objects can cause them to fill in one to the other but I do not think that is now the case but you might try rotating the soffits in plan view 180 degrees to see if that helps at all. I agree with Eric that we need a copy of the plan or at least a picture of the anomaly so we can better understand what actually is happening. DJP

It depends wholly upon what software title and version you have to give an answer like Eric implied. DJP
  4. you might try setting the minimum distance (in Windows Defaults) from the default 2" to zero inches. then shove your windows together and see that effect. DJP
  5. Great Job, Beautiful! DJP
  6. Do you mean in floor plan view or do you mean in camera views? DJP
  7. You have to remember that people who read your posts do not know what you intend to do or what you want. It is your job to clearly communicate that in words and even better with a photograph or scanned sketch upload and a copy of your plan. None of us know what software you are using except you. Home Designer currently has Four different titles (Pro, Architectural, Suite and Interiors), in past versions there were even more titles (Deck and Landscape, Essentials, etc), so it is helpful to use who would help you to know exactly what you are using. None of use are, I think clairvoyant, we need your help to help you. DJP
  8. My point is that without a clearer idea of what you do want, all anyone can do is guess what you mean (a waste of time usually). Once we clearly understand what you do want a solution can then be offered with certainty. DJP
  9. What is a reverse alcove please? You really need to let us know what it is you want other than just a name that I do not understand. Post a picture or sketch of the outcome you desire please. DJP
  10. Please be more specific as to what is wrong or missing or there that is unwanted, too much to guess at. DJP
  11. No matter what you have the answer you seek is in your Reference Manual (Help - View Reference Manual) then read the section on "Materials LIst" DJP
  12. I have never done this myself, so I would recommend that you read the Reference Manual Section on the "Master List" where you will find "Export Options" or you might call Chief Architect Tech Support or post a "Ticket" asking your question. I doubt anyone here knows how or has done it. DJP
  13. The step you missed is to, under the "File Menu" you "back up the Entire Plan with material textures" in Architectural first. That done you will not have any problem then viewing the plan with its associated textures in the Viewer. It is something YOU do, that viewer cannot do. DJP
  14. In Home Designer Pro you can adjust the sides and top of a view sent to layout using the provided handles of the view on layout, no CAD mask is required, you show what you want to show on layout. DJP
  15. You might try dragging the wall under the stair object right under the edge of the stair object which will expose and allow the balusters and newels to be visible and then to further control the reveal of the balusters you could use a sloped soffit to cover only part of the lower part of the balusters. DJP
  16. Read your Reference Manual section about "Custom Materials" DJP
  17. You can adjust "Ambient Light". You can add light fixtures or light sources to brighten any camera view or elevation camera. You can also adjust materials to emit light (emmisive). Several things that you can do to lighten up a camera view of any type. DJP
  18. You need to place the wall oven and then create an "open space" for the Micro Wave and then manually place the Micro Wave Oven in that created space. Here is a You Tube video of me doing the above in Suite 2017: https://youtu.be/ylaFVMKGwpg DJP
  19. Make sure all of your Default Settings for "Floor, Roofing, wall framing and ceiling framing are correctly set and that your model is exactly as you want it before building framing. The software succeeds or fails on how well you set your defaults and then following proper procedure (see Users Guide). DJP
  20. Wall heights are controlled by 1. the ceiling height you set per Room Dialog box - Structure Tab and 2. Between the set ceiling height and the ridge of the roof the software is programmed to auto-fill in with Attic Walls (Marked "No Locate, No Room Define and Attic Wall" found on their "General Tab". These walls will be visible on the "<A> or attic plan view level and in cross sections and isometric views). Where you have a clerestory situation you normally should NOT draw those walls in on the second floor but rather let the software auto-fill those in as it is programmed to do. So if you insist on manually drawing such walls on the second floor be sure and mark them "No Room Define" or name the enclosed space on the second floor as "Open Below". On the first floor of such clerestory rooms you would remove the ceiling by way of that room dialog box. The dormer can by way of its dialog be set to form a room which once done can be programmed to "Open Below" which then should give you a skylight appearance to the room below. DJP
  21. This procedure has not changed in Chief Premier or Home Designer since the feature was first added several versions (years) ago. Look it up in your Reference Manual under Custom Materials where that is all explained in detail. DJP
  22. Read the Reference Manual section on "Custom Materials" please. That should make it clearer. DJP
