  1. Here is a You Tube video of me placing trusses in your plan in Pro 2017, the method shown works the same in Premier as in any version of Pro: https://youtu.be/m9kBZdeVpzY DJP
  2. I am still not sure exactly is missing or there that should not be, in any case here is a You Tube video of me looking over and commenting on your plan file: https://youtu.be/DCShokbaJFA DJP
  3. Software does not "DO" anything, it is a well studied, competent user who does things once they have studied and practiced enough to know where the Default Settings, Preferences and other settings that control the software are. When you have a problem the data to solve it is in the Help files as Eric pointed out and also in the "Users Guide" (which you should read before touching the software) and for specific technical problems you read sections of the Reference Manual. Nothing is really intuitive until after you have studied how to use it DJP

    Attic Space

Creating a second floor to serve as unfinished attic space additionally requires you to name that space via the Room Specification Dialog as "Attic" which will change the floor joists for that space to 2x6's. Otherwise the software will give that add that space to area a living area calculation and make the floor joists as thick as the other floors. just keep in mind that room names are also programing commands. DJP
  5. Also if you want those exterior walls to appear to be foundation walls in plan view go to their wall specification dialog boxes - Foundation Tab and program the walls to have footings using that tab. DJP
  6. You would thicken the floor platform by way of that room's specification dialog-structure tab-floor structure layering it as you desire. I do not understand this statement in terms of a question, you just draw and dimension the wall, nothing arcane there. I also agree with Eric that a signature and concise statements of your questions are prefered. DJP
  7. Here is one that I found in my Library Browser. DJP Bahama Shutter.calibz
  8. https://youtu.be/hwD7vzZUyjw My contribution to helping you. DJP
  9. In older versions the way one would "face" the soffit objects can cause them to fill in one to the other but I do not think that is now the case but you might try rotating the soffits in plan view 180 degrees to see if that helps at all. I agree with Eric that we need a copy of the plan or at least a picture of the anomaly so we can better understand what actually is happening. DJP

    Countertop

It depends wholly upon what software title and version you have to give an answer like Eric implied. DJP
  11. you might try setting the minimum distance (in Windows Defaults) from the default 2" to zero inches. then shove your windows together and see that effect. DJP
  12. Great Job, Beautiful! DJP
  13. Do you mean in floor plan view or do you mean in camera views? DJP
  14. You have to remember that people who read your posts do not know what you intend to do or what you want. It is your job to clearly communicate that in words and even better with a photograph or scanned sketch upload and a copy of your plan. None of us know what software you are using except you. Home Designer currently has Four different titles (Pro, Architectural, Suite and Interiors), in past versions there were even more titles (Deck and Landscape, Essentials, etc), so it is helpful to use who would help you to know exactly what you are using. None of use are, I think clairvoyant, we need your help to help you. DJP
  15. My point is that without a clearer idea of what you do want, all anyone can do is guess what you mean (a waste of time usually). Once we clearly understand what you do want a solution can then be offered with certainty. DJP
  16. What is a reverse alcove please? You really need to let us know what it is you want other than just a name that I do not understand. Post a picture or sketch of the outcome you desire please. DJP
  17. Please be more specific as to what is wrong or missing or there that is unwanted, too much to guess at. DJP
  18. No matter what you have the answer you seek is in your Reference Manual (Help - View Reference Manual) then read the section on "Materials LIst" DJP
  19. I have never done this myself, so I would recommend that you read the Reference Manual Section on the "Master List" where you will find "Export Options" or you might call Chief Architect Tech Support or post a "Ticket" asking your question. I doubt anyone here knows how or has done it. DJP
  20. The step you missed is to, under the "File Menu" you "back up the Entire Plan with material textures" in Architectural first. That done you will not have any problem then viewing the plan with its associated textures in the Viewer. It is something YOU do, that viewer cannot do. DJP
  21. In Home Designer Pro you can adjust the sides and top of a view sent to layout using the provided handles of the view on layout, no CAD mask is required, you show what you want to show on layout. DJP
  22. You might try dragging the wall under the stair object right under the edge of the stair object which will expose and allow the balusters and newels to be visible and then to further control the reveal of the balusters you could use a sloped soffit to cover only part of the lower part of the balusters. DJP
  23. Read your Reference Manual section about "Custom Materials" DJP
