  1. Create new floor above.
  2. That's just the way HD works. Draw in your own ceiling plane. Videos on my YouTube channel (link in sig), and I imagine, on the HD website.
  3. That works, visually, but not the correct way to fix the problem. You have used Deck railings for your pony walls. They should be just railings -- no Deck.
  4. Attaching the plan file will help someone troubleshoot.
  5. Draw a section of the pony wall outside away from the building. Make it No Room Definition and just wide enough to fill the opening (no need to be exact). Center it on the opening, then center it on the wall.
  6. Experiment with a ramp.
  7. What "total SF" are you looking for? The Living Area Label should be shown on each floor. Run a Plan Check if it's not. Each room can show SF as part of the label. See Help for more info.

The Home Designer website has a search that also searches HomeTalk and is a good place to begin when looking for answers.

  11. The Home Designer website is full of howto articles and videos. A search there is the best place to start when you have a question. I'd bet a search for drawers would find something helpful.

    Off angle walls

The easiest way is to Build>Railing and Deck>Polygon Shaped Deck Enter the parameters and create the deck. Open the deck room and change the room type. You can also layout using CAD. Draw lines where you want the exterior main layer of your walls. Walls will easily snap to these lines -- you may need to add some Allowed Angles. Add a center point, draw a single wall, use Transform/Replicate to copy and rotate it about the point.

  15. Manual roof plane, or use an Open Below room to automatically get the roof. What's the problem? ------- And it's easier for people like me, and probably better for you if you ask clear, easily identifiable questions. For example: How do I add the eyebrow roofs as shown in the picture. You might post in Suggestions, and provide a good description of how you would like things to work. You know how walls and roofs work now, so your suggestions probably should work within that framework.
  19. Different how? When you have Auto Build on, changes apply everywhere.
  20. Thanks. That's a common question asked by Suite and Architectural users. Have you searched the forum for ideas? Here is a video on search tips -- done on ChiefTalk, but HomeTalk is the same.
  21. Edit>Delete Objects Choose Deck Framing
  22. Is this checked? If so, it probably should not be as it's an advanced option that most users will never need. Go to Edit>Delete Objects Select Roof Baseline Polylines and then Delete. If it's not checked attach the plan file -- close Pro first and I'll have a look. And generally, when you have a problem like this, try to simplify in a new plan. Draw a single room, make sure the auto roof builder is on, then set a wall to Full Gable. Does it work?
