Build the lower floor/basement. Add the stairs.
-
Stairs are often put in after the floors, walls and ceilings are in, so just leave a hole where the stairs go and get the rest in place. The program wants floors to connect the top and bottom of stairs to.

Why not have 2 plans? As you know, there isn't a 1 to 1 relationship. 1" = 25.39999983236 mm. If you design in one, the other will have odd dimensions.

You should have made this decision around the first of the year when Chief always gives discounts/incentives to upgrade. Don't forget you get to take something off of the X11 price for having Pro 2018. And Chief does a rent to own so you could spread your payments out and end up owning instead of paying a subscription for ACad. Why are you considering an upgrade? What features do you want that Pro does not offer? As for your comparison question, ask on the Chief forum as there are current and past users of Auto CAD. https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/ Chatroom is the best spot for this type of question.

Try reversing your steps rotating back 180, then use Edit Area>Edit Area (All Floors) to rotate.
-
How did you rotate? Best way is using Edit Area.

Thanks for the update.

Go back to to your stair post and see the links for help I posted. The Knowledge Base is full of info and always a good place to start. Also, the 1 hour webinars, and other videos on YouTube are worth watching -- not for learning about one specific thing, but rather to learn how the program works in general. Just make sure you are watching the Home Designer videos, and remember they always use Pro in the videos, so there will be things you cannot do in Suite. It is. What you see above is in Dave's signature, so it's always there. You see what others see.

What you want is not clear. Maybe post a plan with the island. When posting images, try using Vector View as things show up better.

You have 3 sets of stairs on one side -- the program is confused. I pulled 2 of them out a bit so they would show when colored. You can see extra lines here, and when you drag the edge of one back, it reveals the one below. I don't know how anyone uses Suite -- it's so limited. I see that it lacks snap indicators. With Pro, and maybe Architectural, and all or the Chief Architect products, you get visual feedback. As an example, this shows I'm about to draw a stair off of a deck edge. The little red triangle tells me I am at the center of the wall, and snapped to the main wall layer. I would redraw your steps trying to start on the line.

You are working on a plan. The program saves your plan in a file with a .plan extension. Something like myhouse.plan That's the file you need to attach. It works just like attaching the images and video you did above.
-
Post your plan file after closing Suite.
-
Post the plan file.

Have you looked at the new Physically Based Rendering (PBR) available in Pro 2020?
-
Suite is very limited in its features, and many videos will show things not available in Suite, especially the Chief Architect videos. This is Suite 2016, so I'm sure it works in 2019. You might also check with Home Designer sales about an upgrade to 2020. I imagine it will be free since you just purchased 2019.

I think you answered your own question. Do you have Grid Snaps on? Try turning them off if on. You can move objects, including a stair manually. Are you also asking how to create a wrap around stair?
-
The brackets have nothing to do with the roof -- they are added afterwards. With Pro, you can manually draw the roof, or you can use invisible walls to create a room, which can have a roof. That room might be called a Porch, or even a Deck, and have a floor.
-
How do you get any roof? -- That is what causes a roof to appear?
-
Your dialogs will look different -- they changed to this style in the 2015 version.
-
Are you checking the option to use panels?
-
Are you using Home Designer or Chief Architect? If Chief, go to: https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/
