Designer_Ryan
The garage has a default of negative 3-1/2" when the monolithic slab is created. How can I assign this to defaults for different rooms? I'm wanting my floor defaults for the house front entry and rear entry, monolithic slab, to be negative 3-1/2". Thanks.
y-g-m-n
open defualts goto rooms go to actual room you want to change defualts Open and edit structure. but why? garage is lowered so any water dripping from car does not roll into house,

Designer_Ryan
I opened and edited Structure for the floor Lanai. The only option I see is Floor Finish. I set floor finish to -3-1/2". The floor did not drop 3-1/2", like the garage floor. Right now I'm having to set these types of floors: lanai, shower, front entry as garage and change the names. Jo_Ann
floor Lanai ??????????
Rookie65
"Floor finish" means the thickness of the finished floor material. The structure would be where you'd drop it like a garage or deck. Unless your wording is incorrect?
y-g-m-n
below with big black arrow pointing is where I have lowered floor before for a particular room. Makes for great patios and porches.

This shows the drop, as the concrete is raised at the door. Second pic is Entry, not as Garage. There's no drop before the door. I'm done with this, as the structural engineering plans already specify the drop locations. I’d like to thank everyone for taking the time to contribute. How can I assign this to defaults for different rooms? You cannot set this value via room type defaults. Tip: Vector View often shows details better than Standard View. Tip: Attach a simple plan that demonstrates the problem. Image shows a room type of Porch with a 3 1/2" drop for the slab. This is the standard way of doing this. Solution y-g-m-n Posted October 29 Solution Share Posted October 29 Oh and above I messed up when I said room defualt I meant for particular room itself on the plan you open the room edit screen and change floor level. After you changed floor level did you rebuild foundation? Turn on step markers so you can see where there is step in slab. Sometimes you have to edit the AUTOMATIC formed foundation as it is not perfect. So I attached screen shots of s simple house I did in HD PRO 2025 Floorplan portion showing porch which is under main roof Then foundation showing steps and stem wall for garage on one side. Then room spec - I have room type set to PORCH. And finally 3d showing lower porch floor. note once you get floor right TURN off AUTO REBUILD for foundation Sometimes ya just have to play with it. Software developers in charge of slabs should come out to the Southeast where majority of foundations are slabs and see how they are designed and built. God bless you if you want a post tension slab
