Can anyone tell me how I can install a vertically angled framing member, like a 4x4 at a 45 deg angle from a post to a beam for decoration and support?

Thanks.

Sloped soffits reshaped to look like beams is the best simple solution to emulate beams that match the slope of the roof, take a look.

Check the library for brackets or corbels.

You can also use a Custom Backsplash -- far easier than soffits. Search my YouTube channel for a video (link in my sig).

Made the X railings, the upper 45 degree braces, and the slide using the custom backsplash tool. Thanks again!!

New issue.

It won't let me put the X rails on the porch though. They disappear when I copy and move them to the porch rail. Any thoughts?

What "porch rail"?

The slide is attached to the Porch section. The main room will be all screened with a door to the porch area, so it just looks all open. It is also the cantilevered section.

For some unknown reason, the railing wall you have used, will not accept the backsplash.

Build the wall the same way the existing wall with the backsplash is built, then copy/paste the backsplash.

P.S.   I would block the backsplash X before copy/ paste.

It looks like you will need to use invisible walls like you did on the other part of the structure.

Or upgrade to Chief ...

I tried adding walls and making them invisible, but that removed the railing. I guess I can just draw in every piece. Was hoping it would be easier and faster. Thank you again. I will get on it. :) Thanks for your time.

Copy your railing wall to the left and mark it No Room Def. Change the porch wall to invisible, then move the railing wall back.

YMMV
