for your basement wall make a new wall definition of what you will end up with. Example: CMU on outside or concrete Then insulation foam board then air gap then studs then sheetrock

I dunno but try this. Make this vaulted dormer room from first floor with high ceiling. Ensure room divider under the vaulted ceiling beam and that defines the dormer room set the ceiling height up to top plate above those windows you have. check roof over this room uncheck flat ceiling & Shelf Ceiling might need to make dormer walls pony walls where lower part is room divider and upper is whatever t needs to be. PLay with it as what you want isnot intuitive but I am pretty sure if you have things created from First floor it will work better. Or manual edit wall in 3d views by clicking it and moving the corners up. I had similar issue with stair case the just barely the bottom made its way into a room at ceiling and program did not want to enclose with walls. I forget what I did but after while playing I got what I wanted.

try drawing curved wall first and have radius to outside main layer selected with the radius you want. then make sure you have your 90-degree corner it will snap to that. Then move it to where you want and draw the straight walls off of it. I use CAD elements to note tangent points in your case at the 1m mark on one side draw vertical line and then the other horizontal and then use fillet command to find the corner aka center of your curved wall and it also shows where straight walls start from. The curved wall feature needs some love from programmers as it is not easy to manipulate and place them how you really want. Should have adjustments like a CAD arc or circle have. change chord length, angle, radius to main layer, center point etc. and you can lock one down once happy.

in plan view click it. it will show some dims that locate it and if you look around object a small grey triangle thingy. Grab this triangle and rotate. it ill rotate based on your snap angle setting if on or free if off. see screen shot below. Note many other ways to move etc are in the help screen. Peeps should read it or use it when inside a command

Oh and above I messed up when I said room defualt I meant for particular room itself on the plan you open the room edit screen and change floor level. After you changed floor level did you rebuild foundation? Turn on step markers so you can see where there is step in slab. Sometimes you have to edit the AUTOMATIC formed foundation as it is not perfect. So I attached screen shots of s simple house I did in HD PRO 2025 Floorplan portion showing porch which is under main roof Then foundation showing steps and stem wall for garage on one side. Then room spec - I have room type set to PORCH. And finally 3d showing lower porch floor. note once you get floor right TURN off AUTO REBUILD for foundation Sometimes ya just have to play with it. Software developers in charge of slabs should come out to the Southeast where majority of foundations are slabs and see how they are designed and built. God bless you if you want a post tension slab

open defualts goto rooms go to actual room you want to change defualts Open and edit structure. but why? garage is lowered so any water dripping from car does not roll into house,

room dims are from the sheetrock. Interior dims go to studs for framers so will be 1" longer than room dims if each wall has1/2" sheetrock room dims are generic for people looking at plans do decide if they want the plans. Interior dims are for construction

not sure if it will work but might if you set the material for whatever you added to door to look like hole OPENING (NO MATERIAL) under HOME DESIGNER CORE CATALOGS MATERIALS INSULATION Not sure it will work but easy enough to try

from what software into which version HD?

This is how I do it. You draw the inner edge of tray ceiling with the room divider line (under BUILD). This creates 2 rooms - The larger inside tray room - Click on this room and ensure ceiling set to your 10ft. Then the outer "ring" room is your lower ceiling height room - Click on it and in structure tab set ceiling height to whatever you want that is less then 10ft be it 9ft or 8ft-10" but basically the height would be your 10ft ceiling less the vertical dim of this tray. Crown molding works in either room so you can insert crown inside tray and not on outside or both have crown or only th shorter outside area has crown. Play with it. Hell I made it once out of wall cabinet once I just turned into boxes Many ways to make tray ceiling and depends on framing crew as such there are many ways to draw them. As for the lines you see using soffits that is just freak of software in that in plan view it does not "JOIN" the soffit to remove those lines. Nothing to worry about in 3d views nor plan. If you want it better Join the soffits at the inside corners not the outside wall corners as it may look better to you that way.

what software you using? upload your plan to see how you define the rooms which means we can check your structure settings etc

some of the manufacturers of it have 1 or 2 varieties - Cannot remember which but yo get choice like 6" or 9"spacing I forget actual numbers but remember seeing it. Or make it MANUALLY. Put up panels as wall exterior then either add custom backsplash or 3d shapes or any object you can adjust dims ad slap it on the side you like. lots of work as you are installing each one but for small areas you want exact it is a great way to get what you want.
