USB and CD? Really heck my new laptop (from 2 years ago) did not have option for CD drive I had to buy external. Really just download software to any and all computers you use it on a you have to be connected to internet to use program. Then check their website and they tell you how to turn it on one computer while turning off on another as it can only be working on one computer at a time. This is all covered on their website.

y-g-m-n replied to doctormap22's topic in Q&A
What does the STAIRS Edit screenshow? Any screen shots or model fiel you can attach? what are settings for stairs? True second floor right not the attic? Hard to fix this one, maybe attaching model and we canplay with it to find solution? -
what is difference? Elevation is from outside Cross section is from inside as you have to CUT the house in 2 to see an elevation. OR am I missing soemthing? There are cabinet elevations and stuff but you can use cross section for that you just have to position camera in the best loaction.

Where can I find White Lacquer finish material?
y-g-m-n replied to KenAnderson's topic in Tips & Techniques
Attach screen shot of this existing cabinet with WHITE LAQUER finish? Open the edit page for it. Go to the Material tab for it Post screen shot of Material page for this cabinet. See my example. Show me where you have this white laquer finish to begin with... Then we can find it -
Try turning off the CEILING planes to see rafters or roof plane since you have a vaulted ceiling the rafters are sandwiched in between.
-
does it have frame? look at wall art and just change material of art to mirror. Custom backsplash works for those mirror glass glued to the walls.

wall covering is meant for wall paper or maybe rooms with different horizontal colors. like tan from chair rail down and off-white above. Tile on wall should eb done with CUSTOM BACKSPLASH so you account for thickness OR make a NEW WALL DEFINITION with tile being applied to drywall or backer board or the orange Dietrich water proof membrane. Probably other ways to cheat system and make pretty 3d models - as there are a lot of flat objects you can stick onwall and change thickness and material to be tile. flat mirrors, cabinet partitions, 3D shapes on and on. but I think custom backsplash is best

I know in PRO you an as it is done inside cabinet edit window not by certain door. Door & drawer size vary depending on how you hve cabinet set up. so I think it is on second tab and you select FRAME or FRAMELESS. then inset door or overlay or full overlay. With a value for actual overlay and face frame width. If confused look at help screen for cabinets or I am sure they have videos.

always best to dim from wall studs as that is what built per dimensions and framing crew will need that info. Sheet rock is just laid on the stud wall so they do not need to be dimensioned. Now if you are measuring exsiting just add 2 times Wall board thickness (1/2" in USA) to dims you actually measured to get to stud dims.

cool I learned something - lot of steps to get there but cool - I hope I remember I used to just explode - edit - re-block together.

I posted a link to system requirements and it has a minimum and preferred list of what to get and then footnotes. not sure what else you need?
-
try selecting both and then hitting the ARCHITECHURAL BLOCK button. It will then combine but you lose the edit screen for each so make sure they are located where yo want them. Also use the HELP screen with this command.

RENDERING TCHNIQUE OPTIONS THey also have a new one called PHYSICAL View which is aweseom but you need some graphic card power and memory or you will be waiting for the rendering to happen.

Home Designer Pro 2021 Does Not Show Width/Depth with the Specified Values
y-g-m-n replied to BeginnerMorle's topic in Q&A
3d shapes in library: They are very powerful when you need to create something not in a catalog. I have used them for pipes, conduit, AC Line Set covers, etc. Note they can be rotated when viewing in 3d viewing When yo uget to one and click edit click the help screen and read about SHAPES. Road map to shapes: HOME DESIGNER CORE CATALOGS - SHAPES -- BOXES -
