Open 2017, open the plan and like solver said save it, the plan is now associated with 2017 instead of 2015. 2017 should have asked " Do you want to associate plans" or words to that effect.

Here's what I come up with using Suite 2016.... I lowered the ceiling heights for room(s) over the Garage to 0" The attic room by the Porch to -8 1/2" Resized the Office until aligned with the roof below. Made both walls with the 4" pitch the same. Unchecked ignore 2nd floor and unchecked 1st floor full gable wall Turned off Auto rebuild roofs Checked Default for 2nd floor ceiling heights 85 3/8" In Suite you keep Auto Rebuild on until the roof is built to how you want it, then you turn it off. Does 2016 bonus content work in 2017 version?
LawB10 replied to awrosa's topic in Sales Related Questions
Yes 2016 content will work in 2017, 2017 content will not work in 2016.... -
or you can use Jo Ann plan as guidance. By the way your plan was made with Chief Architect Premier

Yes click on the fireplace, open it specification box you will see General, Firebox click on that.

Your Welcome, Now that you have Pro, you don't have to do it that way. Something else you have to consider is that the ceiling height is with the ceiling for this room checked. If you uncheck it and depending on the pitch the ceiling will be that much higher. To test this put the family room 107 5/8 and check the ceiling for this room box, use the full camera to see what it looks like, uncheck the box and you will see the difference.

Omniver, With the exception of HD Pro you keep auto rebuild on until the roof is how you want it. IMHO you should have learned the program you had before upgrading to Pro. Pro and Premier are for folks who do that work for a living, that's why it has more and cost more, If your only doing one or two projects or as a hobby then HD Architectural is highest one should go to. Like JoAnn said the plan did not match the pics, so I went by the pics. The home is built according to a specific plan, you change it, it can cause more problems for you. Too your questions: Can you help me understand the approach you took? (I'm truly trying to spend time learning the nuances of the software) I change the "knee wall" into a exterior wall, and extended it.... I broke the wall at the Master bedroom and then I clicked on that same wall and changed the overhang to 30". In Suite to get that room to match the pic I lowered the the ceiling height to 20" for that room only and made some minor adjustments. When finished I unchecked auto rebuild roofs and changed the ceiling height to 96". For the Family room I lowered the ceiling height to it's default.....looking at the pic that room was not 12' plus at 12' and no ceiling it was to high. lastly I unchecked full gable wall @the master bedroom. Also, I see you changed several of my 1st floor interior-6 walls to interior-4; was there a specific reason for that? I did the same to no visible effect. Note: they actually are thick walls in that area. Nope just change them back. To understand even more go to the original plan with auto rebuild on, lower the ceiling height for the office room only, don't change anything else ans see what happens. Take a full camera and look at the differences between Davids fix and my fix for the Office and Family room...

Here is what I did using Suite... rooffix.plan
-
Is this the Family room in the roof-fix plan? If so, use a soffit...
-
When you click on a wall within a room, the dimensions line comes up, you click on that and make your changes.
-
Omniver, Yes, you either undo it or don't save. Once the roof is set, you uncheck auto rebuild roofs, DO NOT move the exterior walls, now you draw you're interior walls to how you want it. Too add to what Jo Ann said, take pics of the front, rear and sides, that way helps a-lot.
-
Use "Save as" and rename the plan, that way you won't overwrite David's work...

Go to Shapes>cylinders and resize the cylinder.

I just aligned the 2nd floor with 1st. The wall that created the stairwell.

In Suite if you choose "walls with footings" it will not build a foundation for Porches, Slabs or Courts. If you choose monolithic slab it will build the foundation for the those rooms. Use soffits to fill the empty space
-
Fourthly, go to Device Manager and see which adapter the system is using. Sometimes the system will default to the on-board adapter instead of the video card.
-
Here's the plan with the second floor. Like David said you will have to upgrade to Pro or Premier to do that. Suite doesn't have the tools Pro has, so it takes alot of time and effort to get to where you need be. Since you use Sketchup, make what need and then Import to Suite. garage3-1.plan
-
On the first floor uncheck the upper pitch and full gable wall. Uncheck Ignore second floor Build the Grambrel roof using the second floor. To get the flat ceiling use a soffit height of 1 1/2" or so. make adjustments as needed
-
Fixed garage3-1.plan
-
get rid of the poly lines you don't need them Delete the fireplace from the foundation raise the terrain pad by lowering the number Use a pass thru or doorway and place the fireplace on the outside wall, that way it won't show in the master bedroom Uncheck the No Firebox, raise the fireplace to the height you want it. Resize the fireplace defaults to what you want.
-
Create a room in front of the door, rename that room to porch, click the stair tool to add stairs. Use the doorway or rail tool for the porch.
-
Like solver said posting the plan helps It's seems like your not holding down the ctrl key when you move the Microwave.
-
Use the full camera, place it to the side of the cabinet and make your adjustments in 2D view.
