Wasn't me but someone mistakenly or on purpose due to misunderstanding your intent, did that (such adjudications are kept private, sorry). Don't worry about that, it is just someone's opinion. DJP

You can create a set of plans, elevations and details in Architectural but just one screen set at a time (It can be done). I do not receive a commission if you do upgrade, I am just trying to communicate what is True. You can contact Chief Architect Sales to find out how much the upgrade will cost, they should lower the cost since you have Architectural but ask them. DJP

How you print scaled drawings in Architectural, Suite and Interiors DJP
-
Setting up to print views to scale. In Architectural NO, it is not possible to print to scale a plan views, detail views and section views in Suite, Interiors or Architectural. The application that does is called Home Designer Pro which has an additional file output called a ".layout" file or sheet. Using this sheet you can send scaled views (plan, elevation and details) to it at different scales. Each ".layout" file can then represent a printed scaled, laid out sheet at a size of your choice. The largest sheet size Pro prints is 18" x 24" PDF or to paper. With what you have, you can print plan views at scale to a paper size per print and then a single elevation per print, and details to a particular size per print (I have no idea what the paper size "A1" is?) Please state that size in inches. DJP

If you have a Windows PC (any version) with Home Designer Architectural closed, you use "Windows Explorer" to navigate to your plan file. Once found you "Right-Click" on the plan and from the resulting menu, select "Send to - Compressed archive". That action creates a "Zip Archive" of your plan file and compresses its size considerably making easier to share here. If necessary you can make a "save-as" copy of your plan and then remove unnecessary objects from the copy (plants, terrain plane, sidewalks, roads, terrain features, leaving just the plan and enough of it to clearly show what is right and wrong with the plan. Once done you do as above and share the plan copy here as a "zip" file. If that fails, then place a copy of your plan in Dropbox or One Drive and then share the "Link" to that file here (the link "weighs" nothing in terms of Mb or Kb. DJP

Post a copy of your plan along with a little more information about the total intended roof design desired and I am sure you can then get actually useful advise and help. DJP

You should be able to provided your eaves are soffit-ed (may take a little adjusting to get them to look right). A determined effort will get them in correctly. DJP

Nothing at all. You must understand that Home Designer and Chief Architect software is, well, "SOFTWARE", which is an aide but not a replacement for your competence. When the software goofs it is merely up to you to check and correct its occasional mistakes. That, if anything, is what "you are missing". This software has always been a terrific aide but it has never been nor will it ever be "Perfect". Perfection is up to you only, never anything purely mechanical. DJP

I tired and tried and never got a total success. The video shows the steps necessary, maybe you will have better "Luck":: DJP PS: I tried again and succeeded, the resulting plan file is attached, thank you! Kingston ranch.zip What I did was to lower the ceiling height in the attic room to 72" from 8' and that allowed my trusses to form properly and frame around the attic room. DJP whew!!!

Manually align the "Sheetrock" layers on the inside, in other words you do it in the model the same way you would in reality. DJP

Take a look in the Library Browser under "Shapes - Cones" for a simple solution, otherwise you can make a more intricate Spire/Finial using Sketch Up and then import the resulting symbol into Home Designer Pro 2020 (not X12, X12 is the newest rendition of Chief Architect Premier X12-HD Pro 2021 will be released later this year. You start by having similar plan-view layout of walls like the photo. Depending upon exactly what software application you have, you pre-program the walls where you wish "Gable Roofs" to build over (reference "Roof Types" in your "Build Roof Dialog Box - Roof Styles Tab". Read the Help article there on "Gable Roofs" set up and then try to see if you then get a success. Without actually seeing your plan file, I cannot further suggest what you could look at or study to get a desired result. Help us, help you! DJP

Changing the surface material or color directly effects the lighting scheme, especially when using a Standard Render or Physically Based Render camera. DJP

Chief and Pro's starter tread feature does what it does, so this is a workable way to customize them depending upon exactly what you wish to do: DJP

Look in that plan's settings "Edit - Default Settings - Camera - Show Reflections", it is probably unchecked there. DJP
