  1. This is something the program does not do well, and has been discussed here in the past. There are multiple ways to do this. Here is a thread with some answers. https://hometalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/2320-interior-dogear-arch-over-barcounter/ You may need to use a soffit to fill in where a wall is needed.
  2. Suggest you start with a new plan and follow the tutorial.

What Kohler vanities are you referring to?

    roof asymmetry

The roof planes on the right garage are higher than the left. The outside walls don't align right to left side -- check your dimensions. When you draw a layout like this, draw 2 rectangles to form the basic outline, then remove the unneeded walls. This insures everything is aligned. You have a mix of 4 and 6 inch walls which need to be accounted for. That roof will easily auto build too.
  5. I provided links in the post just above. Very many answers can be found with a bit of searching. Did you try using the Auto Stairwell tool? I'm sure Help explains how to use it. Select the stairs, click the tool, you get an opening in the floor above. Did you review the Open Below room type in Help? Did you watch any of the YouTube videos?
  6. Thanks for filling out your sig. Nothing was attached. When you post with an attachment, you should see the attachment just like everyone else after you click the Post button. Do you care how the outside looks, or are you just designing the interior? -------------- Resources for self help: The built in Help System (always a good place to start) Getting Started Knowledge Base YouTube
  7. Looking closer at the plan, I see the baseline of your roof plane is well outside the wall. Roof planes need to be drawn with the baseline over the outside edge of the wall. You can change overhang and pitch in the Build Roof Dialog before drawing in the roof plane.
  8. I deleted yours and drew in one -- no problems. You can always move it up using Transform Replicate, or by opening the Roof Plane Dialog and raising the Baseline Height.

  10. Take advantage of the Knowledge Base. Search there and you will find your answer.
  11. Could you post images or the plan showing the problem?
  12. Tested in Suite 2016. Image shows crown in correct position in both rooms. Posting an image of what you are seeing, or the plan file (make sure it's not open in the program) will help.
  13. Keep in mind that Pro is the best "consumer" product, Chief Premier is far more capable and a much better comparison to AutoCAD. Premier has an Auto Detail tool, for example, used on a section, it will add fills (user definable) with one click. Also, AutoCAD started as a 2D program, and has better CAD tools than any Chief Architect product, but the ability to quickly create a 3D model is where Chief, and Home Designer products lead. You will want to think less about how AutoCAD works, and focus on the Chief way.
  14. Consider drawing in your own dormer and not using the automatic ones. With Pro, you have control of the roof.
  15. I don't know if Architectural has these features, but the trials are free, so it's easy to see for yourself.
  16. Even for a similar topic, you should start a new thread. Can you explain what and how you want to mirror? You can set the angle of something directly in Pro, or use Transform Replicate. Pro also has a Make Parallel tool. Suite does not seem to have these things. You can set the angle of a wall, which can help sometimes. Don't know how people use anything less than Pro.
  17. Mac may be different. Your computer may be different.
  18. Talk to tech support. Try making a copy of your library files in another folder. Delete the old ones. Do a repair install. Now try adding new catalogs.
  19. It's usually because you have something other than a window selected. I opened my trial copy of Suite, and could not make this work either. It does work in Pro.

If you are using a fixture from the library -- no.

    Solar Panels

I use a skylight, set to not cut a hole in the roof, using the solar panel material for the glass. Not sure if Architectural has these options.
