MississippiMims
Anybody know how to make an invisible wall that wont show up in the floorplan? I cant get rid of the outline of the wall and this has been confusing for some framers.
DavidJPotter
Once you are through creating invisible walls, open "Display Options" while in your plan view and uncheck (Turn off) the "Walls, Invisible" layer. Then they will still be there but no longer visible in plan views until or unless you manually turn that layer back on. DJP
MississippiMims
I had tried changing the fill in the wall options. The only problem with turning off the invisible walls layer in the Display Options is I still need the invisible walls for the porches to show up in the floorplan. I'm trying to isolate this particular invisible wall.
Rookie65
Change the line style to "blank" in the default for the walls you don't want to show. When you open up the line styles, you will see one row that has nothing in it.

Even if you set a wall to have all blank lines, you still get the dashed lines when you make it invisible. In Chief, you can place the wall on a unique layer and control the lines, setting them to blank and the wall will not show.
MississippiMims
Keith, were you able to make the "blank" line style work? When I tried it would not go away. Eric, would you place a mask on the layout sheet or is this something that's available for the plan?

Rookie65
No, I didn't try it, and Eric is correct. I would do the mask on the plan sheet using a polyline and making the lines blank and the infill white. When it's put on the layout, it may creat a blank area for any other pages put over that area. Invisible walls used to work nicely when they were just a single line.
MississippiMims
Thanks Eric. Does Chief Architect have more layer control so that I can have text on different layers as well as CAD lines on different layers?

Rookie65
Sure. The polyline does work with the solid white infill
