Exterior staircase to second level entry?

Recommended Posts

I've been struggling to model our current entry staircase and would appreciate any references or pointers. Our home is a two-level home built custom in 1923 with property line walls immediately abutting our neighbor's walls (zero setback), with a perimeter foundation.

The main entry is on the second floor accessed via a front staircase and landing. The area under the staircase and landing are part of the lower level space, with the right stringers part of our exterior wall.

Every attempt to model this so far has HD pro insisting on continuing portions of the foundation wall through the staircase in the front and on the right.

Answers often depend on which title (Suite, Pro etc) and version (2018, 2019 etc) you are using.

You can help everyone by adding that info to your signature (see below for how to turn them on) by clicking on your user name at the top right of the page, click Account Settings, then Signature on the left.

Doing so makes it always available, and keeps others from having to hunt for it.

And, turn on signature display too.

Suggest you create a room (maybe a Porch) at the top of the stairs to start.

Post the plan file (after closing the software) for more help.

Share a copy of your plan file and I will then give it a go, if you like.

A lot of finagling, and a good understanding of how the software works, PLUS...the plan FILE, perhaps.
