ScottED 0 Posted March 17, 2019 Im trying to put 45 Deg Post Bracing as required by code when the deck surface is over 8 feet from the terrain. I can't find any way to add that to my deck. Am I just out of luck? I am using Home Designer Pro 2019. I was hoping that I could grab a post make it about 3 feet long and grab the end handle and rotate it... Anyone know how to add in post bracing? Thanks!
DavidJPotter 201 Posted March 17, 2019 In terms of appearances, you can emulate the bracing using custom made slabs, shaped to emulate the bracing DJP
Rookie65 42 Posted March 17, 2019 I use sloped soffits to make the bracing I need. Then position them in an elevation view. Once the 1st one is done, then I go to plan view and copy and paste them to the required locations.
solver 628 Posted March 17, 2019 I see you said Pro 2019, but you can help everyone by adding this info to your signature (see below for how to turn them on, then see mine for an example) by clicking on your user name at the top right of the page, click Account Settings, then Signature on the left. Doing so makes it always available, and keeps others from having to hunt for it. And, turn on signature display too. ---- Resources for self help: The built in Help System (always a good place to start) Getting Started Knowledge Base YouTube
solver 628 Posted March 17, 2019 You can use a Custom Backsplash to do this too. Draw the shape against a wall, then move into position. It helps to draw CAD lines in elevation, then snap the edges of the Backsplash to them for exact size/shape.
