When I set the paint of the wall to white, it only paints a stripe of paint on the wall.59f8b02ec6c7a_WallandPaintIssue.thumb.png.64c32a282375b19ff66a7ded95024975.png

I've tried setting the color using Defaults and just in the room settings.  I only get a stripe.

Edit-Default Settings-Walls-Interior Walls

then I set Wall covering to White

I also can't figure out how to apply just a basic texture on the wall.  The kind that is on most walls.

Are you using Wall Covering to do this?

The program has no drywall texture materials. Look at stucco, carpet etc.

Why didn't you use the material painter tool?

You open the the plan and click 3d and choose the view you want then click >Window > tile vertically, the display will be in 2d and in 3d views, the Icons will show

up only in 3d view.

C is for Component

O is for Object

R is for Room

F is for Floor

P is for Plan

I found the spray can later, but I never realized there were types of Spray Cans.  I just saw those down at the bottom after I read your message.  This might solve the problem I'm having with changing the material on just one wall.  Thank you for the tip!

  • 8 years later...

I know this is an old thread; but it didn't really provide a solution.  I had this same problem - I tried painting a wall and just got a horizontal stripe midway up the wall.  I got the same results whether I selected the paint from the library and applied it to the wall (using the paint roller), or by opening the Room Specification and changing the wall covering (Room Specification > Wall Covering), or by opening the Wall Specification and changing the wall covering there (Wall Specification > Wall Covering).  When doing the last two, I noticed that the Position section had some strange values.  The height was 8" and the Top to Ceiling was 50-something and the floor to bottom was 40-something.  I cleared all of the values and saved.  I am happy to report it worked.

I think the problem might have been a result of increasing the room height (by 8") after I had already built the floor.

Sharing this info in hope that it helps someone.

wall covering is for wall paper not paint.

stripe is because you are using wall covering and it has variables for bottom & top.

Delete Wall covering. turn off whatever get rid of it if there

Easy way to paint a room is in the room dialogue edit screen go to material page and select WALL INT and or EXT and then select material and go to libray and find your color.

OR open in 3d and spray paint it with the ROOM selected and spray a wall not the stripe.

But go into room
