Window Casing around bank of windows

Recommended Posts

Hello, I've got 6 windows banked together on front of a house above stairwell.  It put the casing in between the windows but how do you add the casing just on the outside?  Selecting exterior casing will put it around the whole window which i don't want.

Using HD Pro 17, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Jason

I don't understand where you do and do not want casing.

you might try setting the minimum distance (in Windows Defaults) from the default 2" to zero inches. then shove your windows together and see that effect.

Posting a plan file will help. All we need is the wall with the windows.

I'd send this to Chief. I have had similar problems.

As a work around, you can use a Custom Backsplash for the trim.

Your windows don't have "Casing" for the exterior checked, but that's going to put casing around the whole window.

I don't think any of the Home Designer programs let you mull windows together to do what you want, and they don't have the manual moldings tools that Premier does, so a custom backsplash or even using the Closed box shape from the Library for going just around the outside of the windows to fake the look of trim is probably your best bet without upgrading.

Also, it looks like you may have used "Copy/Paste Hold Position" a few too many times.  The top and bottom windows on the left (when viewed from the outside) both have two windows at the same spot.

In the upper left and bottom left (from the outside), there are 2 windows in the same space. Select the windows in those two spaces and delete them (deleting the extra window), turn exterior casings on.
