  2. If you look at the article, it does have information on how to turn off the display of labels, which would apply to Essentials, but the latter portion of the article has a notebox that adjusting the text style doesn't apply to the Essentials version.
  3. There are Shapes in the Library Browser. Use a Closed box geometric shape resized to be very thin against the wall and apply the material you want to use to it.
  4. More than likely a problem with your video card. Make sure it meets the System Requirements for running the software, and if so, update its driver following the instructions in this Knowledge Base article - http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00897/
  5. I've seen it called "rope lighting" on ChiefTalk as well, and most of the recommendations there will be with regards to creating photo realistic ray traces. Not sure if it's possible to create this effect easily just using the render views Home Designer has.
  6. You've got lots of options - Use stairs, use rooms defined as Slabs with lowered floor heights, you can even use custom countertops (which would probably be my tool of choice based on your description), or create the stairs in an application like SketchUp and import them as a symbol.
  7. Delete them from your computer at whatever location you've been saving them to, and they will no longer display in the software's recent file list.
  8. On Floor 1, you've got some crazy off-angle walls on Floor 1 (Examples: -89.914382° and -179.914382°) that if you fix all of these, your windows will display fine. You should probably turn your Angle Snaps back on too, if you've turned them off, to avoid that happening again in the future.
  9. You'd want to import them from someplace like the 3D Warehouse. http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00888/

    Eye brow

Just place a break on either side of the windows and mark the middle portion of the wall as Full Gable.
  11. The old forum has some information on this "butterfly" style of roof. http://hometalk.homedesignersoftware.com/showthread.php?16122-Butterfly-Roof-How-to-build-in-Home-Designer-Pro-v8&highlight=butterfly From the old forum, since I'm not sure how much longer it will be "live." The only way I could get close with the automatic tools in Architectural was to create two separate structures each defined with their own Shed roofs and then move them in close enough for the roof plane edges to touch, turn off Auto Rebuild Roofs, and then get rid of the extra walls separating in to two structures. However, with your Pro, it should be relatively easy for you to manually create the roof, rather than use the automatic tools.
  12. Make sure your walls create an enclosed space. If you select it, the "Room" should highlight. Also make sure that "Room" isn't set as Open Below.
  13. I second Elovia's assessment. You can do it, but it would require importing a lot of symbols from third party applications and there are probably better tools for creating this type of design.
  14. I mentioned this in your earlier thread as well, but you actually do get the edit handle in the 3D camera view if you select the Corbel symbol from its top.
  15. You've selected the front of the corbel. If you adjust the camera so you are looking down at the top, and select that, you should see the rotate edit handle.
  16. Can you go in to the NVidia Control Panel and tell it to always use that card for the Home Designer program?
  17. Depends on your version, discussed in this Knowledge Base article. http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00147/

    Pergola issue

Can you attach a screenshot of what you see? Corbels are just millwork symbols, so they behave like pretty much any other object placed from the Library Browser, with edit handles to resize/rotate them.
  19. Your image makes it look like you already have it at the right height, so you just need to rotate the Corbel, and probably decrease its Width, which would be easiest to do in the Floor Plan view.
  20. Suite doesn't have Pony Walls, which are the actual tool designed to accomplish this specific task. If you don't want to upgrade to gain this tool, instead, you can use a Closed box geometric Shape from the Library Browser, or a Soffit, resized to try to create the look, as discussed earlier in this thread.
  21. If you generated Roof Baseline Polylines, you should delete them before attempting to regenerate your roof.
  22. It really does sound like you need to update your video card's driver (if it meets the System Requirements for running the current version). Make sure you manually update it from the website, don't depend on Windows to find a new driver for you. http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00897/
  23. After looking at the plan, solver called it, you have Floor A active, go back down to Floor 1.
