I hope you are right ,$600 would barely cover the concrete here, things are cheaper in the US for sure,..... the joists well be the same either way.... just thought it was worth you asking. good luck

Yes Oriel window is what the type of Bay I am talking about is called in some places ..........should be no issue then...... the builder only needs to cantilever the floor joists out over the foundation wall at the 2 bays locations, say 2 feet ? and insulate that section of floor and add Soffit material to the bottom of it....Of course this may not meet Code in your Area, but the B.I. will answer that with a phone call. and is a lot cheaper than a lot of new foundation that isn't really required for a small "pop out" like this. I know Fine Homebuilding had an article on Oriel/ Bay Windows but much of the site is pay per view now...... yep issue 129 if your builder has it..... maybe more than one article actually.... M.

for 2D you can use cad lines/arcs etc , ok for most City Dept. also Pro would let you convert the polyline but only to a Sprinkler Line ie for doing irrigation. It would be time consuming but if you had the time I think "shapes" from the library could be made to work . There are outdoor faucets in the library too... Chief can do more as it has M.E.P Tools http://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00934/

Some manufacturers have pre-insulated Bay windows ( especially for retrofit work) but a 8-10" thick "Floor" can jut out the wall and be filled with insul./foam etc. and it can be supported with brackets or ? as well if needed , depends on what the bay is for of course , is it more decrotive or do you want a window seat inside it etc. bunch of ways to do it, here are some images on google , his way is not the cheapest but maybe needed depending on your needs. https://www.google.ca/search?q=bay+windows&tbm=isch&imgil=jMpFMK8vAd1mCM%253A%253Bhttps%253A%252F%252Fencrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com%252Fimages%253Fq%253Dtbn%253AANd9GcQDs9JFx2NOLRBk8p5-f8PMQlxh9CBmEXNggscGq3Pa3821_c6J%253B339%253B250%253BXJDSWfLM18aqwM%253Bhttp%25253A%25252F%25252Fwww.buildingsheriff.com%25252Fbay-windows-costs.html&source=iu&usg=__HczjyCz8ERcaueVoiXr2G40MkSM%3D&sa=X&ei=kxGJU8LCAsvroATv74G4DA&sqi=2&ved=0CE8Q9QEwAQ&biw=1589&bih=858#facrc=_&imgdii=_&imgrc=jMpFMK8vAd1mCM%253A%3BXJDSWfLM18aqwM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.buildingsheriff.com%252Fbay-windows-costs_files%252Fbay_window-2.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.buildingsheriff.com%252Fbay-windows-costs.html%3B339%3B250

but I don't have a floor I need to delete not that I haven't used that rescue button a time or two in the past Actually I don't usually do Walkouts , but I don't use your / the floor reassignment method, but there maybe good reasons to do so ? I usually just build the foundation with the Stem Wall minimum height at whatever the Maximum measurement is , in this case ,with floor 48" above ground and needing a 96" basement plus 3-4inches for good measure eg 147 1/2 inches ( easy as my default is 27 1/2" min) and once built I change the FINISHED CEILING height to 96" for the correct floor height in the basement. I'd then do the terrain so that I have it in section views to measure off (conc. 4ft below, siding 8" above terrain line) I can then manipulate the footing and walls in back-clipped section view using the BREAK LINE tool ( note: single click on icon works diff. from double click on icon) If needed as in this case , I edit the Basement foundation walls to be 8" thick siding Pony walls to match thickness of Conc. Stem walls ( set pony wall default height 1st to 36" in this case on Defaults>walls>ponywall) which lets me manipulate the siding on the wall to follow the terrain ,followed by the conc. walls. The footing usually follows the wall up auto. but when you are done stepping it , select it and >open object and check the box vertical footing , so the footing thickness builds up and down at the steps as well. When using ponywalls in the basement , you will see the conc. steps on the inside too ,but this is easily covered as if you paint a pony wall the whole ponywall gets painted , so I take the eye dropper tool in a 3D interior view and click it on the upper drywall area ,it turns to paint roller ,touch concrete and click ok to the error message and all the walls get painted as drywall. No Pics , no proof right here ya go.... PS nice new Avatar

Can you edit the basement Walls manually in Suite ? , it may not be possible? which is why it deletes everything and rebuilds the foundation. Some one with Pro 14/15 maybe able to do it for you ( not sure about Architectural) From a Contractor's point of view I am not sure why the builder wants/needs the foundation to follow the bay window , there are other ways to support it, if Code allows, and it is easier/faster/cheaper to form and pour a straight wall.... if you want the "bay foundation" in the basement for extra space then it's all good but that extra space will come off your % of lot coverage too , so if its tight a Bay that doesn't go to the ground doesn't count as sqft in some jurisdictions

Not sure about older versions but 2015 does support HD integrated graphics ,see system reqs. here http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/products/system-requirements.html

Cant say.... might be better to zip the plan file and send to tech support....<br /><br />just a thought......did you have the room with the ceiling fan (at top) selected when you did the reversal? it is unselected now but the rest of the house is now selected , ie a reversal also of that condition ? , probably not but I'm not sure why one room is unselected unless you took pic after trying David's advice and the one room unselected only? hitting next again doesn't unselect the next room too?<br /><br />any chance there is an object out of the current view ?

I have read of issues having multiple separate buildings in one Plan file ,and the advice was always to do a separate plan for each building. I don't know if that is the issue here or not, but generally the HD Titles aren't used for Plans this size, hospital? Office Building?. DJP or Rich might be able to help you out, they have Pro 2014. Ahhhhh sorry Keith , your toolbars must be in Parent-child mode, not drop down mode like mine.....
-
I haven't played around with this yet myself , but wanted to say that PRO should have the option to INSERT/DELETE a floor if needed under BUILD>FLOOR>INSERT FLOOR. Do A "SAVE AS" of the plan with another name/number and "play" on it , not your original file. M.

Glad you got it sorted out....

if you already made the basement/foundation it may work to delete it , then assign the garage room as a garage and specify slab foundation and set floor © height to minus 24" , then when you build the foundation create your own from a blank plan ,not derived from the 1st/ground floor ...(it doesn't actually start a new blank plan) and draw in your 1/4 basement. you can try things out , just do a SAVE AS eg as my _houseplan_2 and try it out there so you don't screw up the work done to date....
-
have not had that issue, but has it perhaps made an architectural block that needs exploding 1st? M.

in your situation use invisible walls or railings to get the enclosed room , perhaps do room label as Porch to get the conc. slab and then uncheck the ceiling box as David said ,you may want the soffit box checked to , you can try it otherwise you may need to reassign materials to match your exterior rather than interior ceilings. from the help manual Specify the characteristics of the room’s Ceiling. • If Roof Over This Room is checked, a roof automatically generates over the room. If unchecked, no roof generates. If this option is unchecked and a roof plane is manually drawn over this room, its structure will be that of an eave rather than a regular roof. See Roof Tab. • If Ceiling Over This Room is checked, the room has a flat ceiling. If unchecked, the ceiling follows the underside of the roof or manually drawn ceiling planes. • Check Use Soffit Surface for Ceiling to frame the roof over the selected room using the framing defaults for fascia rather than for rafters. • Click the Ceiling Structure button to open the Ceiling Structure Definition dialog and define the layers of materials that form the ceiling platform. Not available for rooms on Floor 0. See Floor/Ceiling Structure Definition Dialog. • Click the Ceiling Finish button to open the Ceiling Finish dialog an ddefine the layers of materials that form the finished ceiling surface. See Floor/Ceiling Structure Definition Dialog. • Check the Default box to the right of either button to restore the default structure and/or finish.

24hrs is probably fine for most but I am curious why you don't allow the forum to "remember" us , most forums I belong to allow this and I see little spam etc elsewhere. M.

I did a quick search for Urinals and it turned out I have 2 in my library along with some Commerical partitions ,ADA stuff etc , no idea where I snagged it but I thought you both might like the Library so here it is all zipped up. ........... Extract the zip file and import the .calbiz as normal with the library import function. Comm.Plumb.Fixtures.calibz.zip

one thing I have noticed is that you won't get a temporary dimension if there is already a (manual?) dimension on the plan showing the same dimension ( or what Pro "thinks" is the same dimension. M.

After the 1st click ,don't click a second time on the sun icon , just select the default sun in the list and the adjust button will go black (live) and you get the DBX mentioned while in 3d mode....

I find if I don't log out ,that the 1st login per day seems to be good for 24hrs ? I can go away and come back a few hrs later and am still signed in but sometimes still have to sign back in if I don't visit for a few days...

Forum Members can get it already by contacting the Sales dept. there is a thread in the Announcements forum.

Keith the Options Rich showed only show up when you do this in a 3D view , then you can change those settings and these charts work great, but you cant access them from Plan view as a different DBX with the make/delete shadows buttons comes up instead when you hit "adjust" M.

Another nice Chart JoAnn , no problem posting it here for this forum I hope, I figured the Legacy forum will be gone at years end and we'd lose it...
