See the build roof dialog.

You need to increase the gable roof overhang up from 1/4" as I suspected.
-
You might post the plan. The roof should cut the walls. Make sure the gable end attic wall is set to "Attic Wall".
-
This post may help. This should be trivial, but due to the design of the program it isn't.

Creating a wall with a 0" thickness seems to work. You will see the wall in the first picture as a solid line over the dashed outline of the cabinet. Once the wall is 0 thickness, it's not easy -- maybe impossible to select.
-
Once you have chosen a color, just click on the fascia to apply it. A selection handle is not needed.
-
Could you post an image or two, or the plan.

I cannot get the thumbnail images to show the larger image, but your thumbnails don't seem to show a soffit. You would need to be on the ground to see the soffit, not form above. So my question is, is it really soffit you are asking about?

Give the forum a search for "batten". This was discussed last year.

Any should work. You may always upgrade to a higher cost product just by paying the difference. Download a trial and give it a try.
-
Worked fine for me too -- until I added the second floor.

For best answers, we need to know what title (Suite, Pro etc) and version (10, 2015 etc) you are using. There was a recent thread on this topic, so you might search the forums for it.

If you have Edit>Edit Area, you can marquee around what you want to rotate and then rotate everything selected. Sometimes when rotating via Rotate Plan, the arrow keys will not work as expected -- pressing the right arrow will result in a up arrow action, for example.
-
If I remember correctly, I always need to turn off side overhangs, or this happens, and testing just now confirms this.
-
Did you run the downloaded file? My upgrade filename looks like "Downloads\Home_Designer_Pro-17.1.2.2-Win64.msi" I use Start8 to make Win 8 more like 7.

My guess is you will need two walls. One for each door. You may place a door in a Room Divider, or use wall type of your own making, or a standard one. Remove trim etc as needed. More specifics on your construction would help.
-
I might start at the end and work back from there. What to you intend to deliver to a customer? Full construction drawings ready for bid?
-
Please tell us which title you are using -- Suite, Pro 2015 etc. When you use the buttons on the toolbar to navigate between floors, what do you see -- only floor 1, or more?
-
Common question. Have you searched the forum and knowledge base?
-
You don't HAVE to build a default roof first. The software, at least Pro 2015, comes set to automatically build a roof once you have connected walls to form a room. I turned that annoying to me behavior off long ago. I generally draw my exterior walls, make adjustments (set to gable etc) as needed, then build the roof. You may change from hip to gable any time, but you must manually rebuild the roof if Auto Rebuild Roof is off to see the changes.
-
Spend some time watching the videos on YouTube, and search the knowledge base here http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/database.html You will find much information that will make using the program easier.
-
Try this. Start a new model -- just 4 walls to make a room. If Auto Rebuild Roof is checked, you will get a hip roof automatically. Select any wall, open its dialog and check Full Gable under the Roof tab. Close the dialog. If Auto Rebuild Roof is on, you will see a gable roof above the wall, if not, rebuild the roof and it will change. Here is a good video to get you started on roofs.

The image shows an auto generated roof. Is it similar to your model? I encourage people to learn the auto roof tools, or learn the manual tools, or better yet, learn both. The simple answer to your question is you need to rebuild the roof using the auto roof build tool, or rebuild it manually. Changing a wall to full gable does nothing until the roof is rebuilt.

Post the plan? Setting that front wall to full gable should work. It's what I did in post #12.
