See this thread on ChiefTalk discussing the alignment issue.

Did you try searching the built in help for Reference Grid?
-
Could you post a picture of what you want to model?

That is a limitation of the Home Designer products. The common work around is to make copies of your plan when it's complete. One for architectural, one for electrical etc.

Rebuild the foundation. The foundation room below the garage should be Unspecified, not Garage. Please start a new thread to discuss roof issues.

Posting a plan that demonstrates the problem would allow others to try it on their system.

Just to make sure, when you select a camera and click in a plan, you are also dragging in the direction of the view?

You might try a reinstall. There is a Repair option that will sometimes fix problems like this.

Floor and full camera both working here in Suite 2016 Trial. Can you describe "cannot get Floor Camera to work"? What happens -- or doesn't happen?

Delete the invisible wall between the kitchen and garage, then redraw it.

Have you talked to tech support? They are the ones with the final answer on questions like this.

Posting the plan file will help us help you. Make sure it's not open in Home Designer.

Draw a small room where you want the dormer. Mark the front wall as full gable. Raise the ceiling height in this room. Build the roof.

You might want to ask Chief sales/support directly.

Have you tried the Manual Method?

This is what you can do in 2015/2016. Seems like some real improvements in 2015 vs 2014. Upgrade pricing is on now -- 20% off ...

When you click on a sink in a cabinet, it selects the cabinet. Press TAB to select the sink. Move it as needed. Copy then Reflect About is also handy for flipping things. I placed the 3 cabinets and sink on the right, then in plan view, copied them and reflected about a CAD line drawn between them.

It does seem like this would be easy, and maybe it is. Create a slope within a boundary. This type of tuck under garage is not uncommon, and this could be used for other things as well. I've never worked with terrains, but there are articles in the Knowledge Base, and a search for Terrain will bring up forum postings too. You can simulate this by using some non terrain objects. This image uses a hole cut in the terrain, with a wedge from the library inside forming the sloped driveway. The foundation walls were pulled out to form the sides. This was my attempt to use terrain tools to do the same.

That looks like a step, not a stair, so use a Landing instead of a Stair.

Sounds like a good question to post on ChiefTalk now that you have X7. Suggest you post a plan with the cabinet as well -- they like that over there. And remember it's Thanksgiving, so you may not get an immediate response.

I also noticed Room Dividers located in and around the plan -- circled in red. I might delete the ones that are not needed. And walls that do not align -- shown in green squares. There are also walls above that do not align with those below, which they typically do. I have found that attention to small details like these will result in a model with fewer problems.

Tom and Law -- You are correct, I was wrong. I downloaded the trial of Suite this morning so I could see what you do. Here is your model, fixed in Suite 2016. Go to Edit>Delete Objects Select CAD and CAD, then Delete. Build the roof.

Except for some minor cleanup, looks like you got it! In the attic, there are 2 walls that are not aligned. I made a bunch of small adjustments to get the inside looking like this. Guess I need to start doing videos so others can see as it's not easy getting things across with words.
