  1. Take advantage of the Knowledge Base. Search there and you will find your answer.
  2. Could you post images or the plan showing the problem?
  3. Tested in Suite 2016. Image shows crown in correct position in both rooms. Posting an image of what you are seeing, or the plan file (make sure it's not open in the program) will help.
  4. Keep in mind that Pro is the best "consumer" product, Chief Premier is far more capable and a much better comparison to AutoCAD. Premier has an Auto Detail tool, for example, used on a section, it will add fills (user definable) with one click. Also, AutoCAD started as a 2D program, and has better CAD tools than any Chief Architect product, but the ability to quickly create a 3D model is where Chief, and Home Designer products lead. You will want to think less about how AutoCAD works, and focus on the Chief way.
  5. Consider drawing in your own dormer and not using the automatic ones. With Pro, you have control of the roof.
  6. I don't know if Architectural has these features, but the trials are free, so it's easy to see for yourself.
  7. Even for a similar topic, you should start a new thread. Can you explain what and how you want to mirror? You can set the angle of something directly in Pro, or use Transform Replicate. Pro also has a Make Parallel tool. Suite does not seem to have these things. You can set the angle of a wall, which can help sometimes. Don't know how people use anything less than Pro.
  8. Mac may be different. Your computer may be different.
  9. Talk to tech support. Try making a copy of your library files in another folder. Delete the old ones. Do a repair install. Now try adding new catalogs.
  10. It's usually because you have something other than a window selected. I opened my trial copy of Suite, and could not make this work either. It does work in Pro.

    Flip light fixture

If you are using a fixture from the library -- no.

    Solar Panels

I use a skylight, set to not cut a hole in the roof, using the solar panel material for the glass. Not sure if Architectural has these options.
  13. You can shape a slab in many ways.

    Sharing Plans

Have you tried? Chief has a free viewer available too.
  15. Why do you want to bury part of it? If you create a room -- one wall is the fence, the other 3 are room dividers, you can lower the floor which will do what you want.
  16. The simple/easy way is to use solids for the arch area -- the 2 angles and the header above. See the Wedge shapes in the library, and use a soffit for the header. Thanks for post the images and for filling out your signature.
  17. There is no need to place images in a PDF. You may post them directly. One click and they are visible full size, no separate download needed. Not sure where the arch is supposed to be.

You have found the wrong forum. Visit Chieftalk for Chief Architect support.
  19. Too easy! @paulmeinhart -- just change the room type to something other than Deck, and the walls to whatever wall type you want.
  20. I don't see a way of setting this dimension so it will auto build the blocking at a specific size. You can, however, edit the blocking in a 3D framing view. Just select the blocking and open it, or just double click it and its specification dialog will open. Change the thickness to what you need. You can use the Object Eyedropper to copy the change to all the other blocking without having to open each one and make the change. I forget, Pro has the Object Eyedropper, but not the additional tool that lets you select which properties to copy. Looks like this may be a manual process. I'm going to report this as a suggestion to allow the change in the Framing dialog.
  21. I'd call that a Victorian style, and they can be found all over the US.
  22. Post a plan just like you posted the picture. Make sure it's not open in Pro.
  23. Are you asking about blocking in the wall? Could you post a simple sample plan?
