DonnaAPH
I am not an architect or professional, I am needing to send a CAD version of my plan from Home Designer Pro 2024 to my architect. How do I accomplish this task? Is this even possible and is there a tutorial on the subject? solver
How to Convert to CAD from Chief Architect Are you using Home Designer? If so, what title and version? What is CAD? Are you asking about a DXF or DWG file? 20 minutes ago, DonnaAPH said: and is there a tutorial on the subject? Probably -- did you look?
y-g-m-n
If you hired Architect might be better to just send your plan view ON PAPER with dimensions and some elevation views of your desired look. That way they can confirm things can be built to what you want. If you send him a file and he uses it and it has errors that are not easy to see well the foundation and/or framing crew will find them for sure and you do not want that. EDIT was to add on paper meant for you to print the plan view

CAD file is a generic reference to a range of different file types. I would go - File\Export \Export current view (DWG, DXF) Name your file and send that. Ask your Architect if that file type is ok for their use. Jeff.
