ChiefuserLarkin
The footing extends past the wall in real world construction, why does the program stop the footing short for a bearing wall? Thanks
katalyst777
Need to see the plan to be sure, but it looks like you need to place a Wall Break and mark part of that other wall to the left as having a footing too.
ChiefuserLarkin
Won't it put the footing on the whole wall?
katalyst777
Only if you don't place the break and mark the whole wall as Foundation.

katalyst777
Under your Help menu, click View Help. Search for the word break and when you see Break - Wall, double click on it to read how to use the tool.
ChiefuserLarkin
guys, know how to use the help for cripes sake. The break wall will only do the center of the wall or within 3 ft. of a corner thus not allowing the footing to extend like it should.

Not true, look again, do some additional trials before you make up your mind absolutely. Part of the learning curve is making misjudgements and then correcting those misjudgements.
