BrandonJJinkins
I have to admit, I'm quite impressed by the wealth of materials I see in the library. That said, however, it is not without its limits. My supervisor and I have both encountered an issue when trying to edit the materials we see as "close but not quite" in instances where we're trying to match something a client is after- that issue being if we wish to alter the color, and we do so by adjusting its hue, it will not affect the little teapot or refresh in the model. We have also tried copying a material into the User Catalog, where the teapot will change but still no application in the model. Is there something simple we're forgetting, or is there a possible problem with our copy of Home Designer?
DavidJPotter
Read the Reference Manual section on "Custom Materials" please. That should make it clearer. DJP
BrandonJJinkins
I think the problem is I was playing with the pattern, not the texture. Correct me if I'm wrong, but after reading the manual it is my understanding that patterns only affect CAD and textures are what actually show up in the model? LawB10
If your trying to match the color then you check the color option, not the texture.
katalyst777
Yes, Patterns display in line views like the Vector rendering technique used for Cross Section/Elevation views, and Textures display in most other rendering techniques. You can change the Pattern without changing the Texture, but odds are that you should be changing both. Also, see KB-00131: Using the Blend Colors With Materials Tool
