brucelan
I am new to Home Designer Pro 2015. I did a plan view drawing of a house. It has a foundation and a first floor. I realized that I had placed the house about 20' off from its true location on the lot. I thought it would be trivial to select the house and drag it (or move it in the dialog box) but when I try to do that, it moves the objects selected on the current layer (1) and leaves the foundation where it was. I have looked through the online help but apparently no one else has struggled with this since nothing about moving objects on multiple layers is discussed. Help, please. solver
Levels, or floor, would be a better description than layers. The software uses layers to control visibility and other visual things. You can use Edit>Edit Area>Edit Area (All Floors) to move the entire structure. You might search here a bit for moving the house vs the terrain.
DavidJPotter
It is not advised procedure to ever move the house ever, you move the terrain plane and its terrain objects to the house always. DJP
GregWest
I found that dormers and steps often have problems with the move but if you break apart the dormers and redo the stairs most other items seem to move okay. It is tricky getting it in the exact spot. Sometimes we have no choice but to move an entire house if it is on the same print as a garage.
