Kristine
I'm in the process of re-creating my friend's house though am having trouble replacing the roof over her garage with a flat deck. I know there must be a way though everything I've tried so far has failed. Any help much appreciated.
DavidJPotter
Remove the roofs, draw the deck over the garage and then build the roofs again. DJP
Kristine
Thanks. I tried removing the roof from the garage alone though then I couldn't work out how to draw the deck over it. The railings kept appearing at ground level.
LawB10
Is this what you want to create??? create a second floor and use the rail tool. balcony.plan
Kristine
Yes LawB10. Though how do I create a second floor over the garage alone without it effecting the rest of the house? I did try though it messed-up my other levels (as this is a three split house) and roof lines.
Kristine
Okay, I worked it out (somewhat) though now I have this issue (see attached image). The roof line is completely wrong and no longer closes.
LawB10
Upload the plan. If you want the balcony covered, check the roof and ceiling box.
Kristine
Thanks. I'm actually trying to achieve something like this (attached). A partial pergola over the balcony which is attached to the existing roof or fascia. The main problem I have is the roof over the adjoining room is supposed to be angled down towards the balcony (as per the example pic) though is currently pitching vertically. Kristine
This is the best I can do. Sorry for my ignorance. I generally use HD for interior schemes so exteriors are a bit of a mystery to me.
LawB10
Click on the wall and open it's specifation box, uncheck Full Gable wall. It would be more helpful, If you could post the plan.
