  1. Thank you. I missed that little checkbox at the bottom of the spec screen. Cheers.
  2. Thanks. Yes, I'm very familiar with the spray can tool and have already done that though it's conflicting with another material which is why in the screenshot it has this hazy look which jumps between colours. My thought is simply to add a backsplash right up to the ceiling though I wondered if there was a more appropriate way to make it work.
  3. Quick question, I can't see a way to change the colour of an interior door from one side to another (and its casing too for that matter)? I know this can easily be achieved with exterior doors, but what about interior doors? Is this possible or is there a workaround? Thank you.
  4. Hi there. I am trying to make the walls in this room with a vaulted ceiling all the same colour, but I can't get the area in the vault (above standard ceiling height) to show the colour correctly. There is a material clash which is causing it to glitch and look patchy. I've tried to select the areas individually though can't. Any ideas much appreciated thanks.
  5. Thank you. I did try that though it produces an undesirable overlap where the cathedral ceiling meets the adjacent wall. As you can see, the lower ceiling juts slightly into the area where I want the ceiling to be cathedral.
  6. Thanks. It tells me my file is too large. I think there is a way to compress it but I'm not sure how?
  7. Hi all. Is there a way to stop invisible walls breaking applied mouldings? I needed to define a room in order to alter the ceiling height so added invisible walls but one of them is breaking the base moulding in an adjoining hallway. The other invisible wall I added doesn't seem to be impacting anything. Thank you.
  8. Thanks. It seems to work. Cheers.
  9. Hi there. I'm currently working on this plan. Originally had all walls extending to the ceiling but have since lowered two around the fridge area to standard ceiling height. But where they were originally is still visible in the ceiling with that T shape. Does anyone know the best way to fix this? Thanks.

    Full Screen Mode?

Hi all, Just wondering if there is an option to view a model in full screen mode. I often walk clients through a plan using dollshouse and floor camera views during screen-share Zoom meetings and it would be nice to be able to present without the distraction of all the bars. I know there are ways to remove toolbars etc. though I'm after a true full screen mode which I can't seem to achieve. I'm also aware there are video recording options but I really like the flexibility of real-time walk throughs where I can explain things and clients can ask questions so it's great being able to do it in the live program. Thanks.
  11. Oh, okay. Seems like a bit of a program oversight.
  12. Hi there. I've noticed that when I have contrasting gutter and fascia colours that the fascia actually protrudes above the gutter which creates a noticeable line around the perimeter of the roof (which clearly wouldn't be there in reality as the fascia sits beneath the gutter). After researching and looking at the settings, I can't see a way to adjust this. Are there avenues for altering the height of the fascia and/or gutter to eliminate this issue? Sorry if I've missed something obvious but I'm currently stumped.
  13. Thanks. Why do I have this gap? It's only present in certain areas. I would assume that the walls should naturally meet the ceiling as I haven't made any custom dimension changes. Sorry, just a bit unsure the best way to solve the problem.
  14. Hi all. Hoping someone can shed some light on why I often get a black line where the walls meet the ceiling when I don't have a flat ceiling over a room? And the best way to remove it? Thanks.
  15. Thanks Keith. Yes, I considered using a tilted shape to mimic the hopper. I will play around with it. Pro 2020 already has the ability to show cabinet doors both opened or closed
  16. I understand your premise, however not everyone who uses the software does so to create 2D drawings for building purposes. I am an interior decorator and all of my clients are "non-professionals" who engage my services purely to visualise their designs. My shared work is all purely 3D. So, in my case there is a NEED to have a fully functional cabinet in 3D, particularly as this client has requested to see each of her proposed cabinets both opened and closed. It's not a huge issue and I know there are some work arounds, I just wanted to ask here first. Yes, it would be great to have Chief but at over 3K I simply can't afford it at the moment. Thank you.
  17. Thanks. Yes, I still have Pro 2020. I can't justify the cost of all the constant upgrades in AUD, it's really expensive. So is this in Chief?
  18. Hi all. Just wondering what would be the best way to create a tilt out cabinet door like this? Obviously it's not difficult to create a bottom hinged door, but what about the internals? Would I have to add something completely manually then adjust the angle each time I want to show the door open or closed? I am trying to make a potting cabinet with two soil containers like attached. Thanks so much.
  19. Hi all. Can anyone offer some assistance in helping me rectify this mess of a corner I've created. As you can see, nothing lines up quite right and there is roof showing through the wall. I've tried a few things though each change I make seems to impact something else, then I end up with more problems I don't know how to best resolve. Any advice greatly appreciated. Rebecca.plan
  20. Thank you so much. That's really helpful. I will take a look and see how it goes.
  21. I'm going to preface this by unashamedly admitting it may be a stupid question, however I'm asking in the hopes of being educated... Lately I've seen a lot of new interior design programs emerging which offer "4K" rendering options which look incredibly realistic. I'm really happy with Home Designer and its level of flexibility so don't wish to change at this stage, however am wondering if there is some kind of avenue to import models into a rendering generator which could produce more photo realistic images? I believe Chief has the power to produce slightly more realistic renders than Home Designer due to its ray tracing capability, however from everything I've seen it's still not comparable to some of the new programs I've learned about (and I sadly can't justify the expense of upgrading to Chief anyway). I feel I've become quite proficient with adapting lighting/shadows/materials etc. in order to make the most of what Home Designer offers, however it still feels lacking to me in regard to realism and ultimate "wow" factor (have attached a snippet from a recent design I've been working on). I've tried researching this though it's all over my head and very confusing for someone who is essentially fully self-taught and a stay-at-home mum designer! Any information or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
  22. Thanks so much. I really appreciate your replies.
  23. Sorry, I mainly use the program for interior decorating (so purely visual) and aren't very familiar with exteriors. I usually just paint materials on which doesn't effect thickness. So I need to set the wall material somewhere?
  24. Thanks. Have you just off-set the walls? I can play around with this though I'm still not sure how to achieve the recessed siding areas above the ground level windows?
