belmont
How do I remove the portion of the basement that is below the terrain line when I take an elevation? Or, can I do an elevation without even drawing a terrain perimeter?
katalyst777
You don't have to have a Terrain Perimeter at all in order to create an elevation. You can turn off the whole "Foundation" layer (but that will turn off the display of everything on Floor 0 in the elevation view). You can leave the Terrain Perimeter, but just turn off its display in the Elevation.Depending on your version, you might even be able to create a CAD object to mask just the part of the foundation below the terrain. belmont
I'm using HD Pro 2014. The problem with turning off the foundation layer is that it looks funny in the elevation. Say the house is out of the ground about 24", so I have steps coming off the front and back door. How do I show the 24" of foundation that is above ground without showing what is below ground? LawB10
You could also fool around with the Terrain Perimeter. Click on it and open it, then uncheck "Automatic" the higher the number(s) the lower the Pad goes.
