Hello All,

I see the comparison chart that states all version of HD are capable of opening and viewing files from CA Premier.  It also says that "basic editing" is possible.  Does part of that "basic editing" include being able to move walls?  If so which of the HD versions are capable of it.

Thanks.

yes I would get it from the horse's mouth so to speak , use the 1-800 sales number and I think they Skype now too.

there is this KB article http://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00516/

which makes it sound like you can but AFAIK though you can only view plans made in the same year's product ie X6>2015  and editing is very limited even in Pro  and moving walls isn't an option , maybe just colors that type of thing.

***correction see below , test plan was not HD enabled :o

I own all recent titles and versions of Home Designer and Chief Premier and a Chief Premier user can program a plan file to be edited in any Home Designer title of the same version number (newer version plan files cannot be opened or edited by older version titles). The limitation is set by the limitation of what a Home Designer title can edit (some objects can be created in Chief Premier and viewed by Home Designer titles but not edited or selected). Walls are fully editable as well as windows, doors, cabinets, furniture, fixtures and appliances.

The important make-break is that the Chief Premier version matches, time-wise with the Home Designer title for the file sharing to work.
