RobynKS 5 Posted November 16, 2014 I am re-building my plan and want a pergola out the front. I have the posts in place and when I type "Pergola" into the reference manual it tells me there are no notes on Pergola. So I typed beam into HD pro library and all I get is a pine beam. Many Thanks Robyn
solver 644 Posted November 16, 2014 There are lots of really helpful videos available from Chief on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/user/ChiefArchitectInc/videos Take 8 or 10 hours and watch them. Most are geared to Chief Premier, but much of what you will see translated to PRO. Here is one to start with.
Kbird1 159 Posted November 16, 2014 try the Knowledgebase 1st when you have a question , lots of good tutorials and in particular one on Custom Pergolas http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00889/221/Home-Designer/Moldings-Millwork/Creating-a-Custom-Pergola.html you could also use this Tutorial and use its technique's http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-01081/103/Home-Designer/Framing/Creating-a-Pole-Barn-Structure.html or this one http://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00598/19/Chief-Architect/Framing/Creating-a-Post-and-Beam-Structure.html
RobynKS 5 Posted November 17, 2014 Thankyou Kbird and Solver. That helped with post and beams. But the video is for Chief. So my program will not do the designing of the Corbels. The corbels do not have a handle when selected. Therefore I cannot place them at the ends of the posts facing east and west. My plan is drawn with front door facing north. I have posted a new question. My sincere thanks. Robyn
katalyst777 708 Posted November 17, 2014 The corbels do not have a handle when selected. Can you attach a screenshot of what you see? Corbels are just millwork symbols, so they behave like pretty much any other object placed from the Library Browser, with edit handles to resize/rotate them.
